Dynasty Trade Advice: JK Dobbins, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Joe Burrow (Week 3)

Dynasty Trade Advice: JK Dobbins, Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Joe Burrow (Week 3)

With Week 2 in the books, it’s time to assess where your dynasty teams are currently at and what transactions you should be looking to make. Today we look at the likes of JK Dobbins, Tyreek Hill and Joe Burrow to determine whether to buy, sell or hold in dynasty.

Dynasty Trade Advice

Buy: JK Dobbins (RB – Chargers)

The resurgence of a healthy JK Dobbins is one of the best stories in football and makes him a candidate for Comeback Player of the Year. I’ve avoided him in dynasty leagues until now. He is averaging 21.5 PPR points per game, which puts him at RB5. Dobbins is the RB you want in the Chargers’ offense as he has played more snaps, ran more routes and received more targets than Gus Edwards. Edwards has a 3% higher rushing share (two more attempts).

With Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman running the offense we know the lead back will get plenty of work each week and the Chargers are looking better than anticipated, making Dobbins a more appealing option. Per FantasyPros’ expert consensus rankings (ECR), he is currently ranked as the RB24 for the rest of the season and the RB43 in dynasty. Given we are in the points-scoring season, I am only looking at what he can do for my team right now during this season.

I would be looking to craft a package with appealing rookie running backs such as MarShawn Lloyd, Ray Davis or Jaylen Wright. I would be ok with moving Blake Corum as well to get the upgrade of Dobbins in my lineup. Capitalizing on Isaiah Likely‘s surge, if you have a better option at tight end in front of him, could be a piece to offer. For receivers, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Stefon Diggs or Tank Dell come to mind. You can also consult our dynasty trade calculator tool for more suggestions.

Sell: Tyreek Hill (WR – Dolphins) and Jaylen Waddle (WR – Miami)

Possibly an overreaction to Tua Tagovailoa‘s recent injury but the production and value of the Dolphins’ top wide receivers could go downhill quickly without their franchise quarterback. I prefer to tier down from both of them to more value-insulated assets like Rashee Rice, Brandon Aiyuk, DeVonta Smith or Rome Odunze.

I would also take a swing at Nico Collins or the underproducing Garrett Wilson. Ja’Marr Chase would be my top target. He has started the season off hot on top of not getting a new contract in the offseason, which could have managers a little worried about him moving forward making this the best time to see what kind of deal can be made for the Bengals wideout before he starts producing as anticipated.

Hold: Joe Burrow (QB – Bengals)

Reinforcements are coming in the form of Tee Higgins eventually. The offense looked much better versus the Chiefs than it did in Week 1, even without Higgins. Per KeepTradeCut, Joe Burrow’s value has dropped from QB7 to QB11 since September 1st. He is now valued behind Jordan Love and rookies Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams.

With no known timeline for Higgins’ return, I’m not looking to buy Burrow. On the flip side, knowing Higgins could be coming back soon, I’m not looking to sell him either. We’ve seen a slow start from him every year of his career and he has always bounced back to be a valuable fantasy QB (when healthy). I don’t see any reason to think this season will be different. With his performance against one of the better defenses in the NFL, I’m still confident he could be a weekly top-eight fantasy signal-caller.
