We’re well under a month until the 2025 NFL Draft, and with little time to go, we’re checking in on another mock draft post-free agency.
Let’s dive in.
2025 NFL Mock Draft (Round 1)
1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward (QB – Miami)
The Titans get their franchise quarterback, plain and simple.
2. Cleveland Browns: Shedeur Sanders (QB – Colorado)
The Browns brought Myles Garrett back, and I can’t imagine a scenario where their discussions didn’t involve getting a young signal-caller in there. Garrett has gone on record with ESPN Cleveland, discussing a young quarterback and the aches and pains that come with it. Therefore, I think the pick is Shedeur Sanders.
3. New York Giants: Abdul Carter (EDGE – Penn State)
After getting Russell Wilson, the Giants won’t draft a quarterback here. Thus, the pick will be Carter or Travis Hunter. The Giants did sign Paulson Adebo — not that he’s good enough to prevent you from drafting a player like Hunter — but Brian Burns and Carter coming off the edge is an exciting prospect.
4. New England Patriots: Travis Hunter (WR/CB – Colorado)
The Patriots don’t need a cornerback, so Hunter will work with Stefon Diggs to elevate Drake Maye on the offensive side of the ball.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham (DL – Michigan)
Mason Graham has been my pick for the Jaguars for months. He has everything you’d want in an interior defensive lineman, despite his arms being a bit shorter than you’d like.
6. Las Vegas Raiders: Tetairoa McMillan (WR – Arizona)
I flirted with the idea of Ashton Jeanty here, but the Raiders do need a No. 1 WR to help make Geno Smith‘s time in Las Vegas meaningful, however long that may be.
7. New York Jets: Armand Membou (OT – Missouri)
This is a no-brainer pick. Armand Membou is a plug-and-play right tackle.
8. Carolina Panthers: Tyler Warren (TE – Penn State)
Tyler Warren is a complete tight end who will help take Bryce Young‘s development to the next level.
9. New Orleans Saints: Ashton Jeanty (RB – Boise State)
This may seem like a luxury pick of sorts, but new Saints head coach Kellen Moore saw first-hand what having a dependable running back can do. They still have Alvin Kamara, but he’s been lackluster as a runner. He’ll still serve as a valuable pass-catcher, but he’ll also help this offense continue to find pass-catching weapons.
10. Chicago Bears: Will Campbell (OL – LSU)
Ashton Jeanty would be a phenomenal pick here, but with him gone and given the Bears’ offensive woes, they take the best lineman in the draft. Despite the recent acquisitions, Will Campbell may be better suited inside, but the Bears still need more offensive line help.
11. San Francisco 49ers: Jahdae Barron (CB – Texas)
With Charvarius Ward leaving, the 49ers need to bolster their secondary. Jahdae Barron can play anywhere back there and offers extreme versatility.
12. Dallas Cowboys: Matthew Golden (WR – Texas)
Matthew Golden won’t need to travel far, as he’ll be the speed threat in this offense, complementing CeeDee Lamb.
13. Miami Dolphins: Kelvin Banks Jr. (OL – Texas)
I’m curious where the Dolphins would slot Kelvin Banks Jr., but they need assistance along the offensive line. Banks’ movement skills should work just fine in Miami.
14. Indianapolis Colts: Colston Loveland (TE – Michigan)
Colston Loveland is a phenomenal pass-catcher. He’ll be an immediate upgrade at the tight end position. The quarterback position could be in flux, but I think there’s legitimate upside for him to be Brock Bowers-esque.
15. Atlanta Falcons: Mike Green (EDGE – Marshall)
The Falcons’ pass rush improved a bit toward the end of the season, but they need more. Green played at a lower level with Marshall but was completely dominant. He’ll contribute right away.
16. Arizona Cardinals: Will Johnson (CB – Michigan)
The Cardinals have many “guys” at cornerback, including Max Melton, Garrett Williams and Sean Murphy-Bunting, but none of them have CB1 upside like Will Johnson does.
17. Cincinnati Bengals: Josh Simmons (OL – Ohio State)
Coming off an ACL injury, this is certainly a risky pick, but the Bengals’ offensive line is in a situation where I’m OK with them rolling the dice on Josh Simmons. If it pans out with new offensive line coach Scott Peters, the Bengals will have found their left tackle of the future.
18. Seattle Seahawks: Donovan Ezeiruaku (EDGE – Boston College)
Donovan Ezeiruaku might be a bit smaller, but he has good arm length, is quick and has a high football IQ. The Seahawks need EDGE talent, and Ezeiruaku offers a much-needed level of consistency.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell (LB – Alabama)
The Buccaneers desperately need a linebacker. Jihaad Campbell fills that role. He could also help out in some pass-rush situations.
20. Denver Broncos: Walter Nolen (DL – Ole Miss)
I love Walter Nolen. I don’t think he’s a completely polished Day 1 All-Pro, but the explosiveness he brings is something that will excite Sean Payton.
21. Pittsburgh Steelers: Omarion Hampton (RB – North Carolina)
I’ve been out on more than Ashton Jeanty at running back in the first round, but Omarion Hampton makes sense when you operate under the assumption the Steelers sign Aaron Rodgers to play quarterback for them.
There could be an argument made for them to target the offensive line, but Mason McCormick was OK as a rookie and should be given another chance.
The Steelers have two great receivers. Hampton will give them a do-it-all back to go alongside Jaylen Warren.
22. Los Angeles Chargers: Kenneth Grant (DL – Michigan)
Jim Harbaugh reunites with one of Michigan’s own. Kenneth Grant plays nose tackle, and his agility for the position isn’t something you see every day. He’d slot in nicely along an interior defensive line that needs help.
23. Green Bay Packers: Luther Burden III (WR – Missouri)
I’m not sure he’s a prototypical No. 1 WR, but Luther Burden can play all over the field and will provide an immediate boon to this receiver room.
24. Minnesota Vikings: Malaki Starks (S – Georgia)
He might not be a freaky athlete, but Malaki Starks does everything else at a rather elite level. He’ll be a great presence in this secondary with Brian Flores coaching him up.
25. Houston Texans: Grey Zabel (OL – North Dakota State)
The Texans’ offensive line is depleted and Grey Zabel’s versatility will help keep C.J. Stroud upright in 2025.
26. Los Angeles Rams: Jalon Walker (LB – Georgia)
I believe Walker would thrive with the Rams. He’ll help out in the middle of their defense and will bring an edge to this defense, which has a plethora of young and hungry talent.
27. Baltimore Ravens: James Pearce Jr. (EDGE – Tennessee)
James Pearce Jr. is still, in many ways, a ball of clay. If any team can help take his raw athleticism and shape it, it’s the Ravens.
28. Detroit Lions: Mykel Williams (EDGE – Georgia)
A lot like James Pearce Jr., Mykel Williams is another player with plenty of athleticism who will only continue to get better as a pass rusher. The idea of this coaching staff working with him and eventually being a more developed player across from Aidan Hutchinson could be quite scary.
29. Washington Commanders: Emeka Egbuka (WR – Ohio State)
Washington brought in Deebo Samuel. The addition of Emeka Egbuka would make for a starting trio of Terry McLaurin, Samuel and Egbuka.
Sign me up.
30. Buffalo Bills: Shemar Stewart (EDGE – Texas A&M)
Loaded with athleticism, Shemar Stewart will help the Bills later in the season when they inevitably meet the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs. Stewart will be instrumental in helping exploit the Chiefs’ weakened offensive line.
31. Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Conerly Jr. (OT – Oregon)
The Chiefs are in “offensive line no matter” mode. Josh Conerly Jr. is the best one remaining on the board.
32. Philadelphia Eagles: Derrick Harmon (DL – Oregon)
Good bye, Milton Williams; hello, Derrick Harmon.
Harmon will be excellent in this rotation due to his competitiveness and overall quickness.
A seamless replacement for Williams in this front.
