MLB DFS Picks & Underdog Player Props: Monday (4/13)

Monday MLB DFS slates can be odd because it is often a travel day. While not every team plays today, we still have relatively full slates. The main slate on DraftKings begins at 6:35 p.m. ET and includes nine of the day’s 10 games. FanDuel splits the nine games into separate slates. Below are our top MLB DFS picks for the day.

Monday’s Starting Pitcher Rankings (4/13)

PLAYER DraftKings Salary FanDuel Salary
Paul Skenes $9,500 $10,200
Nathan Eovaldi $7,800 $8,700
Ryne Nelson $6,800 $6,900
  • It’s not much of a discount, but Paul Skenes is down a bit from his usual highs. After that Opening Day debacle, he has settled in the last two starts with just under a strikeout per inning, and an expected ERA of 2.10. The Pirates’ offense has been good enough to earn back-to-back wins.
  • Nathan Eovaldi‘s first two starts of the season have made his season stat line look scary. He has allowed the most hits, earned runs and home runs of any pitcher in the American League so far. Yet, his last start looked much more like the pitcher we have come to know. He struck out seven batters with only two earned runs allowed over six innings. His matchup today is against an Athletics team striking out 27% of the time, but it’s at Sutter Health Park.
  • Ryne Nelson is coming off his best start of the season. He went 5.2 innings against the Mets with a single earned run and five strikeouts. Today’s matchup is against the Orioles, who are striking out 25% of the time.

    Suggested Lineup Stacks

New York Yankees Projected Lineup (4/13)

POS PLAYER DraftKings Salary FanDuel Salary
    1B Paul Goldschmidt $3,600 $3,100
    OF Aaron Judge $6,400 $4,200
    OF/1B Cody Bellinger $4,400 $3,300
    OF Giancarlo Stanton $4,200 $3,400
    2B/3B/OF Amed Rosario $3,000 $2,600
    2B/3B Jazz Chisholm Jr. $4,000 $2,800
    OF Randal Grichuk $2,300 $2,300
    SS/2B/3B/OF Jose Caballero $2,600 $2,500
    C Austin Wells $2,800 $2,600
    • The New York Yankees are facing left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi. While Kikuchi’s ERA is 6.75, his FIP would tell you that he hasn’t been that bad at 3.05. It’s hard to find success when you allow as many baserunners as he does. After leading the American League with 185 hits allowed last season, he has a 1.77 WHIP this season.
    • Paul Goldschmidt hasn’t gotten off to the scorching start against left-handed pitchers that he had last season. Of course, he’s only had four at-bats against lefties to this point and has a double. Remember, he finished last season with a .981 OPS against left-handed pitchers.
    • You have to go cheap at pitching, but if you can afford him, Aaron Judge is an excellent starting point to your stack. Two of his three home runs this season have been against left-handed pitchers. That’s after posting an astounding 1.279 OPS against left-handed pitchers last season.
    • Amed Rosario is an easy way for affordable exposure to the Yankees. He’s only a platoon player against left-handed pitching. While his two home runs this season have come against right-handed pitchers, his career OPS against left-handed pitching is nearly .800.

    Texas Rangers Projected Lineup (4/13)

POS PLAYER DraftKings Salary FanDuel Salary
    OF Brandon Nimmo $4,700 $3,500
    OF Wyatt Langford $4,000 $2,600
    SS Corey Seager $4,800 $3,700
    1B Jake Burger $4,200 $3,200
    OF/1B Joc Pederson $2,800 $2,400
    OF Evan Carter $3,900 $2,700
    C Danny Jansen $3,200 $2,800
    2B/SS/3B/OF/1B Josh Smith $3,100 $2,300
    3B Josh Jung $2,700 $2,200
    • This will be the first home start of the season for Luis Severino. In his first season pitching for the Athletics, he had an ERA of 6.01 in home starts and 3.02 in road starts. His WHIP is currently 1.80. He has struggled massively with walks early in the season, but hasn’t yet allowed a home run. That will be tough to maintain at Sutter Health Park.
    • Let’s begin our Rangers stack with Jake Burger. While he’s cooled off a bit recently, he still has six extra-base hits this season with a pair of home runs. He’s also gone 5-for-16 with a pair of doubles and a pair of home runs against Severino in his career.
    • Brandon Nimmo recently had a multi-home run game that helped him get to 20 hits this season. He’s been one of the best hitters in baseball. Don’t expect that to slow down against Severino. Nimmo has gone 5-for-10 against Severino with a pair of doubles and a home run.
    • Some cheaper options who also have history against Severino include Josh Smith and Joc Pederson. Smith has gone 3-for-6 with a home run. Pederson is 3-for-8 with a home run.

    Core Studs

POS PLAYER DraftKings Salary FanDuel Salary
    1B Pete Alonso $4,800 $3,000
    C Drake Baldwin $4,700 $4,000
    OF Teoscar Hernandez $4,700 $3,300
    • Pete Alonso saw Ryne Nelson a lot during his time in the National League. He is 5-for-11 against him, with four of those hits being home runs.
    • Drake Baldwin has been one of baseball’s best hitters at any position. He already has 20 base hits, including five home runs. That’s supported by his .601 expected slugging rate. He’s also had a pair of home runs off of Eury Perez in four at-bats.
    • Teoscar Hernandez has a matchup against left-handed pitcher David Peterson. He’s off to a slow start against lefties, but that’s usually a matchup to target. He has a .872 OPS career against left-handed pitchers.

    Value Plays/Punts

POS PLAYER DraftKings Salary FanDuel Salary
    OF Jordan Walker $3,700 $3,500
    OF Owen Caissie $3,600 $3,100
    2B/SS/3B Miguel Rojas $2,600 $2,300
    • I’m going to keep recommending Jordan Walker in this section until he inevitably slows down. He’s now in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak during which he has hit six home runs.
    • Owen Caissie should be in today’s Marlins lineup against right-handed pitcher Grant Holmes. Caissie is showing strong batted ball data with a 25% barrel rate and an expected slugging rate of .534.
    • Miguel Rojas is someone I personally target often when he is in the lineup against a left-handed pitcher for cheap exposure to Dodgers hitters. Today is a matchup against left-handed David Peterson, whom he has gone 7-for-18 against with four extra-base hits.

Monday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props

Justin Wrobleski (RP – LAD): 14.5 Pitching Outs — Lower

Justin Wrobleski is the projected Dodgers starting pitcher today. His first appearance of the season was in relief, and his last appearance was as a traditional starting pitcher.

Wrobleski faced 17 batters in the first game and 21 batters in the second game. He’s going to have to be efficient to get to 15 outs against a Mets team that averages 3.92 pitches per plate appearance.

Gunnar Henderson (SS – BAL): 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs — Higher

Gunnar Henderson is off to a strong start to his 2026 season. He has now exceeded 1.5 combined hits + runs + RBIs in his last six games. Looking even further back, he has cleared this mark in 11 of his last 13 games. Today, he is going up against Ryne Nelson.

Cristopher Sanchez (SP – PHI): 6.5 Strikeouts — Higher

Cristopher Sanchez‘s last start saw him allow his most hits in a game since 2024, when he gave up 11 hits against the Giants. Still, he struck out six batters. That’s after he struck out 10 and seven in his first two starts.

For the season, that gives him a 33% strikeout rate. The Cubs are striking out 28.6% of the time against left-handed pitchers, which is one of the five highest rates in the league.
