Brandon Lowe homers twice in Pirates' debut Thursday

by David Leisering | Pirates Correspondent | Thu, Mar 26th 9:49pm EDT

Brandon Lowe went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in the Pirates' 11-7 loss to the Mets on Opening Day.

Fantasy Impact:

Lowe had quite the debut for the Pirates, belting home runs in his first two at bats in a Pittsburgh uniform. He hit a two-run first inning home run off of Mets' starter Freddy Peralta and then drilled a solo shot off Peralta in the top of the third inning. It was Lowe's ninth career multi-home run game. Lowe is coming off of a 31-home run season with the Rays and has hit as many as 39 home runs back in 2021. He'll likely be the everyday starter at second base and is a pretty safe bet for 25-30 home runs in 2026.
