Cardinals DE J.J. Watt is set to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder and is likely to miss the remainder of 2021, as per NFL's Ian Rapoport. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Watt signed with the Cardinals in March to a deal that included $20M in guarantees. Although his stats don't jump off the page in 2021, he has 16 QB pressures and is a savvy run defender. Watt's intelligence and leadership on the field can't be replaced. This is a bitter pill to swallow for one of the all-time greats, and a roster that looks like it can be something special.

Jonnu Smith was limited in Wednesday's practice after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 7 (Source: Henry Mckenna on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Smith caught 2 of 5 targets for 52 yards before exiting the week 7 match up with his shoulder injury suffered in the game. The limited status on Smith at practice is a decent sign that he should be okay to play in Week 8's contest against the Chargers defense who are allowing the second most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season

T.J. Hockenson was limited at Wednesday's practice. Hockenson has been dealing with his knee injury for three weeks. (Source: Tim Twentyman)

Fantasy Impact: Hockenson has not lost any playing time as of yet from his knee injury and with his new ankle injury. This practice was a walkthrough so the official status is just an estimation of his health. We will have to monitor Hockenson throughout the week to determine his status for Week 8's match up against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tevin Coleman (hamstring) did not practice for the Jets on Wednesday. (Source: Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Coleman missed Week 7's matchup due to his hamstring injury, fantasy managers will have to monitor his status at practice throughout the week. If he is out again for Week 8's matchup, Michael Carter and Ty Johnson should lead the backfield against the Bengals defense who has only allowed an average of 94 rushing yards this season to opposing teams.

T.Y. Hilton missed Wednesday's practice with his quad injury. (Source: Charlie Clifford on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Hilton missed Week 7's match up with his quad injury, so not practicing Wednesday is something to monitor throughout the week but the Colts could be giving Hilton an extra rest day. If Hilton is out again for Week 8, Michael Pittman Jr, Zach Pascal and Mike Strachan should see an uptick in targets.

Julio Jones (hamstring) was sidelined for Wednesday's practice. (Source: Turron Davenport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is a reoccurring trend with Jones and his lingering hamstring injury. We've seen him miss practices due to his hamstring and still play great in match ups. Fantasy managers should monitor Jones throughout the week for his status for Week 8's game against the Colts.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Ryan Fitzpatrick is walking around the Washington facility on crutches, still 'weeks away' from returning. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Fitzpatrick has an MRI in the coming weeks but the belief is he is still out until at least after the Week 9 bye. This means that Taylor Heinicke will still be the starting QB until further notice. We will have to wait and see how Fitzpatrick MRI results come back in the next coming weeks to access Fitzpatrick's fantasy value rest of season.

Per Ian Rapoport, The Texans are sending veteran RB Mark Ingram to the New Orleans Saints. (Source: Ian Rapoport)

Fantasy Impact: A shocker in Houston as the Texans are sending Mark Ingram to where he started his career in New Orleans. With Alvin Kamara serving as lead dog and Tony Jones Jr likely back in two weeks, the move is likely just a depth add. Ingram offers no real fantasy value but this move does increase the fantasy value of David Johnson.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says he expects TE George Kittle (calf) to return in Week 9 against the Cardinals. (Source: David Lombardi on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Kittle has been out since Week 4 with the injury. The team believed the star tight end would be dealing with the issue all year if he didn't give it some rest. Fantasy managers should obviously hold onto Kittle until he's back in action.

Panthers rookie wideout Terrace Marshall Jr. (concussion) was absent from Wednesday's practice. (Source: Joe Person on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Marshall didn't play in Week 7 and it's unclear if he'll return this Sunday against the Falcons. The rookie wasn't overly involved in the offense prior to suffering the concussion, so he can be left on waivers in standard redraft leagues.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. (Source: Sam Fortier on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Gibson hasn't been practicing on Wednesdays as of late, so this is actually good news. He'll likely continue playing through his shin issue in Week 8 against the Saints.

Packers WR Davante Adams isn't traveling with the Packers and is unlikely to play in Week 8 against the Cardinals. (Source: Andrew Siciliano on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Adams was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday and likely won't have enough time to be ready for Thursday's game. Allen Lazard is also out while it remains to be seen if Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) will return from IR. If not, then Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers and Equanimeous St. Brown will play in three-wide sets.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders (ankle) isn't practicing on Wednesday. (Source: Jeff McLane on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: As expected. Sanders remains week-to-week with his ankle injury, though there have been reports that it isn't as serious as it initially seemed. Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott will be in line for more touches for however long Sanders is sidelined for. Gainwell's pass-catching abilities set him up as the better PPR play in fantasy.

Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) did not practice on Wednesday as he deals with a groin injury that he sustained in Week 7. (Source: Tony Grossi on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is a tough situation as groin injuries are known to linger. With Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. back from injury, Peoples-Jones will be a boom or bust type of receiver when he returns from the groin issue.

Dyami Brown (knee) did not practice on Wednesday after suffering a knee injury in Week 7 against the Packers. (Source: Rhiannon Walker on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: While this injury may not keep Brown out for an extended period of time, his status for Week 8 is looking doubtful. He has been hard to trust this season, regardless of the fact that he had a role open up due to the Curtis Samuel injury.

Category: Injury Updates

Terry McLaurin (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. This injury just popped up today, so this will certainly be something to monitor over the course of the week. (Source: Rhiannon Walker on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: McLaurin has certainly had his ups and downs this season, but he remains the solidified WR1 in Washington. The Football Team is extremely banged up at wide receiver, so the hope is that this injury will not keep McLaurin out of Week 8

Dak Prescott (calf) will participate in some individual drills Wednesday in practice. Concluding the drills he will be evaluated by the medical team. (Source: Jane Slater on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This is a step in the right direction for Dak. The issue is that if the Cowboys rush him back this week, he jeopardizes further injury. This will certianly be a situation to monitor, and a tough decision for the Cowboys is looming as they may have to give their franchise QB some time off in order preserve his longevity, as they are in the thick of contention.

Evan Engram has reportedly been drawing interest from multiple teams who are looking to fill their tight end need before the trade deadline. (Source: Jeremy Fowler on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: If Engram were to be traded, his fantasy value would be completely contingent upon the landing spot. A few teams that make sense would be the Colts, Saints, and Bills. However, we will have to wait and see what the true market is for a guy like Engram.

Jarvis Landry, who is battling a knee injury, missed practice on Wednesday. (Source: Mary Kay Cabot on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Landry, who had just returned from IR on Thursday, injured his knee at the very end of the game against the Broncos. Although he reportedly avoided major injury, his status is very much in doubt for Week 8. Continue to monitor the practice reports but, even if he suits up, he'll make only a borderline flex play at best.

The Steelers activated Anthony McFarland Jr., who had been on IR with a knee injury, to the 53-man roster on Wednesday. (Source:

Fantasy Impact: This was the end of McFarland's 21-day practice window as he returned from IR, so the Steelers had to activate him or he would have been done for the season. McFarland has no fantasy value right now, as Najee Harris should continue to dominate the touches in the Pittsburgh backfield, so don't bother adding him in fantasy leagues.
