The shortstop position is one of the richest and most profitable of all positions in fantasy baseball. The first half of the players in the rankings below can help any fantasy team in multiple categories. There is, however, a dropoff after the first half.
Barring injuries, the shortstops listed below should likely retain their positions all year, with little chance they will move positions.

It is the belief in this corner that Marcus Semien and Jorge Polanco are two of the most under-rated and under-appreciated players in the game. That’s why you see their rankings to be higher than those given by most other analysts.
Beware of injuries, Didi Gregorius is returning from Tommy John surgery. Adalberto Mondesi had shoulder surgery. Fernando Tatis Jr. missed time due to a barking back. That’s the reason he has dropped in my rankings. Back issues are very, very tough on players. The same can be said for Carlos Correa. Back and rib issues have sidelined him. For this scout, he is an injury risk. Xander Boegaerts is dealing with ankle issues this spring. Be careful.
