Today is a main slate day on DraftKings and FanDuel. Both slates begin early at 11:35 a.m. ET and include 11 games, so we have a lot of DFS options to choose from.

- Chris Sale is expensive, but there is a reason for that. First is Sale’s recent performance. He has not allowed over two earned runs in his last 10 starts, so his ERA is only 1.61 during that span. That low ERA comes with 83 strikeouts in only 61.2 innings. Then, you consider that he is being opposed by the Colorado Rockies. That’s a Rockies team striking out 27.6% of the time against left-handed pitchers.
- Speaking of teams with struggles against left-handed pitchers, Yusei Kikuchi is facing the Baltimore Orioles. While the Rockies have the lowest wRC+ against left-handed pitching, the Orioles are the second-worst. They have hit eight home runs against left-handed pitchers all season. While not the hot streak Sale is on, Kikuchi is also on a nice streak. Since the start of May, he has 40 strikeouts in 45 innings with a 1.97 ERA.
- Eury Perez made his season debut earlier this week against Pittsburgh. He gave up four earned runs in three innings for a 12.00 ERA. That comes with a 1.74 FIP, showing how unlucky he was. What was most encouraging was the 70 pitches thrown. That means he can get to around 85 pitches today. Given his track record, he can score a lot of DFS points in 85 pitches.

- The Chicago Cubs have been a top-five offense by nearly every metric. For DFS purposes, they are in the top four in runs scored, OPS and home runs. Today, they are opposed by left-handed pitcher Mitch Keller. The Cubs have a 112 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers. Additionally, many of their options already have impressive resumes against Keller.
- Let’s start with Ian Happ. He has gone 11-for-27 against Keller in his career. Of those 11 hits, he has three doubles and three home runs. That’s a track record you notice.
- A second option for your outfield is Kyle Tucker. He doesn’t have the extensive track record as some other Cubs hitters, having only faced Keller twice. He did turn one of those at-bats into a home run, though. That’s not surprising given Tucker has an OPS of .929 against left-handed pitching.
- While Dansby Swanson, Nico Hoerner and Seiya Suzuki don’t have the home runs that Happ has, they also have each had success against Keller. Swanson has three doubles against Keller in his 15 career at-bats. Hoerner is only 2-for-9 against Keller in his career, but both hits were doubles. Suzuki is 5-for-10 against Keller with two doubles himself.

- The Houston Astros take on the Minnesota Twins today. The Twins are expected to start Simeon Woods Richardson. Woods Richardson returned to the Major Leagues earlier this week to make his first start at that level in nearly a month. He gave up six earned runs in 4.2 innings. It pushed his seasonal line to a 5.74 ERA with a nearly equally poor 5.04 FIP.
- Jeremy Pena had a 0-for-4 game yesterday. Before that game, he had multiple hits in four games in a row. Pena had five extra-base hits in those four games, including two home runs. He should get back to hitting again today.
- Make sure that Isaac Paredes is in the lineup. He has sat the past couple of days dealing with a hamstring injury. If he is in the lineup, get him in yours. Thirteen of his 15 home runs have come against right-handed pitchers.
- Yainer Diaz hit his eighth home run of the season yesterday. He has had five extra-base hits in the past week. If you go back to the start of May, he is hitting .288 with six home runs, which is what we expected from him in the offseason.
Core Studs
- Adley Rutschman is a switch-hitter. His OPS is over 50 points higher in his career against left-handed pitchers. Today, he is facing left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi. Rutschman has gone 9-for-26 in his career against Kikuchi with three home runs.
- Another player with an impressive resume against his opposing starting pitcher today is Bryan Reynolds. His seasonal numbers are still trying to catch up after a slow start. Over the past 28 days, he has hit .297 with 10 extra-base hits. Reynolds is 8-for-14 against Colin Rea in his career with two doubles and two home runs.
- Matt Olson has turned around his season recently. Over the past two weeks, he has a .987 OPS. He has also been better against left-handed pitchers with an .852 OPS. Today, the Braves will be opposed by Austin Gomber.
Value Plays/Punts
- Somewhat shockingly, Salvador Perez doesn’t have a home run against a left-handed pitcher this season. That’s despite a 48.8% fly ball rate and a 41.9% hard-hit rate against left-handed pitchers. Today’s matchup is against left-handed pitcher Jeffrey Springs.
- Carlos Narvaez has a difficult matchup against New York Yankees left-handed pitcher Max Fried. Narvaez has an .873 OPS against left-handed pitchers. This game will be at Fenway Park, where Narvaez has been at his best, as 15 of his 20 extra-base hits have come at home.
- Carlos Correa is opposing his old team, the Houston Astros, and their starting pitcher, left-hander Brandon Walter. Walter has made two starts all season, covering 11 innings. Correa has a .962 OPS against left-handed pitchers this season. Much better than the .587 he has against right-handed pitchers.

Sunday’s Top 3 Underdog Player Props
Brayan Bello has only gone over this line once in his last seven games. That was a seven-strikeout game on May 23rd against Baltimore. Having played with the Red Sox his whole career, Bello has a history of starts against the Yankees. He has only gone over 4.5 strikeouts twice out of six starts against the Yankees since the start of 2023. The Yankees are striking out only 22.5% of the time.
Eury Perez was already mentioned above under the pitcher recommendations. He struck out five batters in his first start in what will likely be one of his worst starts of his season. Before his start on Monday, the last time we saw Perez was in 2023. He ended that season clearing this line in 11 of his 14 starts, including both starts against the Nationals.
Elly De La Cruz is riding a five-game hitting streak. He is also in the middle of a three-game home run streak. Today, he faces right-handed pitcher Sawyer Gipson-Long. De La Cruz has a .951 OPS against right-handed pitchers this season, but only a .591 OPS against left-handed pitchers.
