Fantasy Football Mock Draft
1.10: Kyler Murray (QB – ARI)
I had to prioritize quarterback with one of my first two picks. Quarterbacks will fly off the board in Superflex leagues; ideally, you want to land at least one top-10 quarterback.
Kyler Murray finished as the QB10 in total fantasy points last season. Draft Wizard suggested Bo Nix, but I believe Murray has a higher ceiling.
2.01: Justin Jefferson (WR – MIN)
I didn’t want to go back-to-back quarterbacks and miss out on a playmaker because there were few big names on the board I couldn’t pass up.
It came down to either Jahmyr Gibbs, CeeDee Lamb or Justin Jefferson. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take arguably the best receiver in the league, especially in a PPR format.
3.10: Drake London (WR – ATL)
There were some really good options at wide receiver on the board with this pick — Drake London, Garrett Wilson, A.J. Brown, Brian Thomas Jr. and Ladd McConkey.
London finished third in the league in targets, trailing only Ja’Marr Chase and Malik Nabers. He had arguably two of his best games with Michael Penix Jr. under center.
4.01: Derrick Henry (RB – BAL)
Not sure how Derrick Henry fell this far, but I’ll take it. Not your ideal pass-catching back, but he finished with 18 total touchdowns as the RB4 in points per game last season.
5.10: J.J. McCarthy (QB – MIN)
Heading into the sixth round, I was the last team to draft a QB2. I’ll take a stab with J.J. McCarthy after seeing what Kevin O’Connell did with Sam Darnold last year.
Also, with Jefferson on my team, this gives me a Vikings stack, ultimately persuading me to take McCarthy over the likes of Jordan Love and C.J. Stroud.
6.01: Kenneth Walker (RB – SEA)
If he can stay healthy, Kenneth Walker is a potential league winner. He finished as the RB12 in fantasy points per game, but his season was cut short by injuries.
Walker is also a very underrated pass-catcher. Among qualified backs, Walker ranked sixth in targets per route run rate and sixth in receiving yards per game. I’m ecstatic to land Walker as my RB2.
7.10: Courtland Sutton (WR – DEN)
Courtland Sutton was Bo Nix’s No. 1 target, and that should continue to be the case in 2025. Among 85 qualifying receivers, Sutton ranked 26th in receiving yards per game, 28th in yards per route run and 15th in first downs per route run, per Fantasy Points Data.
8.01: David Montgomery (RB – DET)
I am loving the way this team is coming together. David Montgomery is not an every-down back, but the touchdown production should still be there. If anything happens to Jahmyr Gibbs, Montgomery gives us league-winning upside.
9.10: Brian Robinson Jr. (RB – WSH)
At this point, I am just adding depth to my running back room. Brian Robinson Jr. is a solid back, and if he can stay healthy, he should see an increase in production. In games where he played at least 40% of snaps, Robinson averaged 17 touches and 82 yards per game.
10.01: TJ Hockenson (TE – MIN)
T.J. Hockenson has been one of my favorite players to target late in drafts.
After his return to the field, he was the TE16 in fantasy points per game, which doesn’t seem that great, but a lot of that is because he failed to score a single touchdown, despite earning eight red-zone targets in 10 games.
According to our own Derek Brown, among 47 qualifying tight ends, Hockenson ranked 13th in target share (16.2%), eighth in receiving yards per game (45.5), 15th in yards per route run (1.56) and was fifth-best in first downs per route run.
11.10: Jordan Mason (RB – MIN)
Continuing the Viking stack, we add Jordan Mason. Aaron Jones will be the starting running back at the start of the season, but his age will eventually start to set in, and Mason will be there waiting.
Mason showed he can ball out when given the opportunity. While Christian McCaffrey was sidelined to start the 2024 season, Mason averaged 107 yards rushing over the first five games of the season before getting hurt himself.
12.01: Jayden Reed (WR – GB)
Getting a potential No. 1 WR in one of the best offenses in the league in the 12th round is a steal.
Reed suffered from a sophomore slump, but I am expecting a big bounce-back year. Packers pass-catchers had an awful season, leading the league in drops, but with the addition of Matthew Golden, we should see the offense take off.
13.10: Jake Ferguson (TE – DAL)
Jake Ferguson had a down year compared to his 2023 season, but a lot of that can be due to Dak Prescott missing the majority of the season. After hauling in 71 catches and five touchdowns in 2023, Ferguson put up a big goose egg in the touchdown category last season.
Adding George Pickens should open things up for Ferguson, putting him back in the conversation as a top-10 tight end.
14.01: Keon Coleman (WR – BUF)
Keon Coleman had a disappointing rookie season, and the addition of Josh Palmer could impact playing time, but he has a lot of raw talent. A lot of players taken at this point are dart throws and may not even be on your roster by Week 3. So take a stab on upside.
15.10: Kansas City Chiefs D/ST
The Chiefs were the best available D/ST.
16.01: Jake Bates (K – DET)
Jake Bates was the best available tight end. He is the No. 3-ranked kicker in FantasyPros’ expert consensus rankings (ECR).
