TL;DR Fantasy Football Week 7

Week 7 Byes: Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens

Must-Know Quarterback Fantasy Football Stats

Sam Darnold (QB – SEA)

Sam Darnold has been excellent to start the 2025 season. He leads the entire NFL in adjusted net yards per attempt, Pro Football Focus (PFF) passing grade and expected points added (EPA) per play. He isn’t mobile, and Seattle’s offense is run-heavy, so his fantasy production has been just OK. But even that is trending up, with 24.3 points per game over his last two.

However, as well as he has played, I don’t yet view Darnold as a matchup-proof quarterback. That’s bad news for this week, as the Seahawks play host to an elite Texans defense. Houston has easily allowed the fewest points per game to opposing quarterbacks at just 10.4. Darnold’s long-term outlook this season is bright, but I recommend keeping him out of your lineup this week.

Bryce Young (QB – CAR)

Fantasy players will hate the thought of starting Bryce Young in Week 7. The former Alabama star has averaged only 191.7 passing yards, 1.7 touchdowns and 13.7 fantasy points per game this season. Yet, he has taken advantage of fantasy-friendly matchups, totaling 328 passing yards, three touchdowns and 21.3 fantasy points against the Arizona Cardinals earlier this year. More importantly, Young was outstanding last week despite having only 25 pass attempts, completing 68% of his throws for 199 yards, three touchdowns and 18.5 fantasy points against an awful Dallas Cowboys defense.

Hopefully, the Alabama star can have similar success against the Jets this week. New York’s defense has severely struggled. Last week, Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos offense couldn’t get on track, as the former Oregon star had only one touchdown and 13.4 fantasy points in London. However, New York had surrendered 2.2 passing touchdowns and 20 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks over the first five weeks, the sixth-most in the league. They gave up four passing touchdowns and at least 25.7 fantasy points twice over those five contests.

Must-Know Running Backs Fantasy Football Stats

Javonte Williams (RB – DAL)

The Panthers’ run defense isn’t as bad as it’s been historically. In back-to-back weeks, they’ve held De’Von Achane and Javonte Williams to fewer than 2.2 yards per carry. Still, I’m not worried about Javonte Williams’ first bad game. The Cowboys back played 85% of the snaps and had plenty of red-zone work (six red-zone opportunities), but didn’t score.

Williams still totaled 18 touches (and eight targets). Jaydon Blue played just five offensive snaps after Miles Sanders was placed on injured reserve (IR). Eventually, some of the Dallas offensive line injuries would catch up with them, and that was the case in Week 6. I like the schedule upcoming for Williams (home vs. WSH, @ DEN, home vs. ARI) before a Week 10 bye week. Williams ranks seventh in rushing success rate this season.

Bam Knight (RB – ARI)

Surprise. Bam Knight is the lead back in Arizona. Despite Michael Carter playing 58% of snaps in Week 5 and finishing as the RB11 in half-PPR scoring for the week, the Cardinals apparently didn’t appreciate his 18 carries for 58 yards. Knight led the charge this week, playing 37 snaps to Carter’s 32, with Emari Demercado playing only three snaps.

Knight carried the ball 11 times for 34 yards and a touchdown on Sunday versus the Colts and added one catch for 20 yards. Knight has scored a touchdown in each of his last two games. Although Knight’s weekly upside is limited to the productivity of the offense, quarterback Kyler Murray has a good chance to return next week. Knight is a solid Flex play as long as Trey Benson (knee) remains out of the Cardinals’ lineup.

Ellis Bryn Johnson

Kimani Vidal (RB – LAC)

My finger couldn’t have been further from the pulse about how Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman would divvy up backfield usage in Week 6. Perhaps they planned to go with the hot hand, and Kimani Vidal played so well early on that they stuck with him. Either way, Vidal was fantastic.

Vidal converted 18 of the backfield’s 24 rush attempts (75%) into 124 yards, with a 38-yard run. In addition, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Vidal played 43 snaps and ran 22 routes compared to 20 and 11 for Hassan Haskins and one of each for Nyheim Hines. Vidal converted four targets into three receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown. He also had a sweet blitz pickup that will endear him to Justin Herbert and the coaching staff.

Must-Know Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Stats

Wan’Dale Robinson (WR – NYG)

Wan’Dale Robinson had no more than 30 receiving yards in each of Jaxson Dart‘s first two starts, but stepped up in a significant way on Thursday night, catching six passes on seven targets for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Robinson scored over 20 PPR points (20.4) and finished as a top-10 wide receiver (WR9) for the first time since Week 2, taking over as the No. 1 option without Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton. He set season-high marks in snap share (97.1%), target share (29.2%) and route participation rate (96.4%).

-Sam Choudhury

Drake London (WR – ATL)

Per NFL Next Gen Stats, Drake London was targeted on nearly half of his routes against the Bills, hauling in 10 out of 16 targets for 158 yards and a touchdown across 34 routes.

London accounted for 74.3% of the Falcons’ team air yards on the night. Only four Falcons players caught a pass from Michael Penix Jr. on the night. Every one of London’s receptions came either in the short area (six receptions, 79 yards, one touchdown on 0-9 air yard targets) or intermediate area (four receptions, 79 yards on 10-19 air yard targets).

Keep in mind that the Falcons fired their previous wide receivers coach before Week 4, in an effort to get more offensive production from the position. So far, so good. Over the last two weeks, London has averaged 13 targets, nine receptions and 134 receiving yards per game.

Must-Know Tight End Fantasy Football Stats

Harold Fannin Jr. (TE – CLE)

With fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel taking over at quarterback for the Browns a couple of weeks ago, Harold Fannin Jr. has climbed back up the tight end board. The third-round pick out of Bowling Green finished with just 13 receiving yards in Week 5, but he hauled in all four of his targets, including his first NFL touchdown. Fannin followed that up this past Sunday with a new career-high 81 yards on seven grabs against the Steelers.

The Dolphins have not done a great job against opposing tight ends so far this season, or really against the pass overall. The unit ranks 20th in passing yards allowed per game (220.8) and is allowing the sixth-most half-PPR points per game to the position. Fannin is set up for another strong showing in Week 7.

-Nate Miller

AJ Barner (TE – SEA)

AJ Barner had a massive play in Week 6 on a busted coverage, finishing with three catches for 71 yards. He has a team target share of 15.9% over the last three weeks. Barner is worth an add, but is firmly behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp in the pecking order.

-Richard Janvrin

Tyler Warren (TE – IND)

After tying his season and career high of 18.3 fantasy points on Sunday, Tyler Warren is now the TE2 through six weeks of the season. The rookie has been remarkably consistent, going for 63-79 yards in four of his six games and scoring double-digit fantasy points in five games.

Warren drew nine targets this week, matching his highest previous total, which came in Week 1, catching six passes for 63 yards and a score. While he didn’t record a carry in this one, Warren has four rushing attempts this season, one of which resulted in a touchdown, and he is as involved in an offense as any tight end in the game right now.
