Fantasy Football Mailbag: Streamers, Waiver Wire & Trades (2025)

Everyone loves an Ask Me Anything (AMA), especially the fantasy football community. You can put me at the top of the list of those who love fantasy football AMA. Answering questions for a specific individual fantasy player is so much fun. Not only am I helping that fantasy player improve their team, but it also challenges me to think outside the general box of who is higher in my rankings or who to start this week.

FantasyPros does an excellent job with their Discord AMAs, giving members a chance to have their questions answered by professionals. Please join my Discord channel and reach out to me anytime with any fantasy football questions.

Fantasy Football Discord AMA & Mailbag

So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of the questions and answers from my Week 14 Discord AMA.

Waiver Wire Questions

Which of these guys would you add off waivers in a must-win Week 14 between Devin Neal, Kyle Monangai, and Adonai Mitchell?

I like all three guys, but Monangai stands out. The rookie had 130 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 19 PPR fantasy points last week despite D’Andre Swift putting up similar numbers. The Chicago Bears want to lean on their run game. While they have a difficult upcoming schedule, Monangai should remain a flex option with RB2 upside. He has averaged 15.8 rushing attempts for 81 yards and 14.4 fantasy points per game over the past five weeks, totaling 10.7 or more in all but one.

Is Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love, or C.J. Stroud the best replacement option for Drake Maye‘s Week 14 bye?

Lawrence is my favorite of the bunch. The former Clemson star has been a solid streaming or bye-week replacement option this year, averaging 1.4 passing touchdowns and 17 fantasy points per game since the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Week 8 bye, totaling 17.1 or more in 60% of the contests. Furthermore, he has been using his legs, averaging 5.4 rushing attempts for 24.4 yards, 0.6 touchdowns, and six fantasy points per game on the ground over the past five weeks.

Would you rather stream the Cleveland Browns or Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense this week?

Both defenses are solid options in Week 14. However, the Browns are the far better option. Cleveland is one of the top defenses in fantasy football, largely because of Myles Garrett. The team has 29 sacks over their past six games, including 10 two weeks ago against the Las Vegas Raiders. Meanwhile, the Browns face a Tennessee Titans offense that has been a fantasy goldmine for opposing defenses. They will be my top-ranked defense in Week 14.

Lineup Questions

Should I start Brock Bowers or Tyler Warren in Week 14?

Good grief! Ideally, you can start both, one at tight end and the other in your flex spot. However, if forced to pick, I would go with Warren. The rookie has an excellent matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Bowers faces an elite Denver Broncos defense. While Zach Ertz had 10 receptions on 13 targets for 106 receiving yards and 20.6 PPR fantasy points against the Broncos last week, I consider that more of a fluke than a new trend.

Which two should I start between Derrick Henry, Quinshon Judkins, Bucky Irving, and RJ Harvey?

I haven’t done my Week 14 rankings yet, but right now I would lean towards starting Henry and Irving. Henry has been outstanding lately, averaging 75.7 rushing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 20.1 PPR fantasy points per game over the past three weeks. He faces a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that surrendered 30.4 fantasy points to the Buffalo Bills backfield last week. Meanwhile, Irving looked good in his first game back, accounting for 73.1% of the backfield touches, totaling 81 scrimmage yards, two touchdowns, and 16.1 fantasy points.

Start which three in PPR between CeeDee Lamb, Nico Collins, DeVonta Smith, and Brock Bowers? There is no mandatory tight end spot in my lineup.

With no mandatory tight end spot in your lineup, I would normally consider sitting Bowers with his tough matchup against the Denver Broncos. However, Smith has been far too inconsistent for me to trust. Therefore, I would start Lamb, Collins, and Bowers this week. Thankfully, Lamb has an excellent matchup against the Detroit Lions on Thursday. Meanwhile, Collins has been outstanding lately, averaging 19.2 PPR fantasy points per game over the past month, totaling 21.5 or more in all but one contest.

Dynasty Questions

Who wins the trade: Early 2026 first, 2027 first, and Tory Horton for Christian McCaffrey and Jaylen Waddle?

I really hate giving up 2027 first-round rookie picks. That draft class is going to be LOADED with talent. However, as a contending team, I give you an A-. McCaffrey has been outstanding this season. Meanwhile, Waddle should be the Miami Dolphins’ No. 1 wide receiver again in 2026, as the team reportedly will release Tyreek Hill this offseason. That said, I would try to sell high on McCaffrey after the season, aiming to recoup at least a 2027 first-round rookie pick.

Thoughts on trading for Javonte Williams in dynasty as a contending team?

This move is a double-edged sword for me and really depends on the trade price. I fear Williams will end up like Rico Dowdle did this past offseason. Despite coming off a career year, Dowdle had to accept a one-year deal to be Chuba Hubbard’s backup. Unless he re-signs with the Dallas Cowboys, something I doubt, given their need to keep George Pickens, the most I would offer for Williams is a 2026 second-round rookie pick and maybe a throw-in type player.

Outlook Questions

Would you rather have Matthew Stafford or Justin Herbert for the rest of the season?

Both quarterbacks are excellent options, but I lean towards Stafford. Last week, he had three turnovers, after totaling four over the first 12 weeks of the year. Yet, the future Hall of Famer kept his passing touchdown streak alive, totaling at least two in 10 of the past 11 games, including six consecutive. Meanwhile, Herbert suffered a hand injury on Sunday that required surgery. Hopefully, he won’t miss any time, but you have to anticipate that the injury impacts his play.
