Fantasy Football Mailbag: Streamers, Waiver Wire & Trades (2025)

Everyone loves an Ask Me Anything (AMA), especially the fantasy football community. You can put me at the top of the list of those who love fantasy football AMA. Answering questions for a specific individual fantasy player is so much fun. Not only am I helping that fantasy player improve their team, but it also challenges me to think outside the general box of who is higher in my rankings or who to start this week.

FantasyPros does an excellent job with their Discord AMAs, giving members a chance to have their questions answered by professionals. Please join my Discord channel and reach out to me anytime with any fantasy football questions.

Fantasy Football Discord AMA & Mailbag

So, without further ado, let’s dive into some of the questions and answers from my Week 15 Discord AMA.

Lineup Questions

Should I start Joe Burrow or Drake Maye in Week 15?

Both quarterbacks are excellent starting options this week, but I’m going with Burrow. He has been outstanding since returning from the toe injury, totaling 545 passing yards, six touchdowns, and 42.6 fantasy points over the past two weeks, totaling at least two scores and 19.2 in both matchups. Meanwhile, Maye has cooled off since his hot start, averaging 17.3 fantasy points per game over his past five outings. Furthermore, he scored a season-low 12.1 fantasy points in the Week 5 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Would you start Tetairoa McMillan or Zay Flowers this week?

Last week, Flowers was outstanding against the Pittsburgh Steelers, totaling 20.6 PPR fantasy points. Furthermore, he has scored 11.3 or more fantasy points in all but one game since the Week 7 bye. However, that lone game came in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals, the same team Flowers faces this week. Meanwhile, McMillan has scored 11 or more fantasy points in four consecutive games but has needed four touchdowns to reach that goal. I would lean McMillan, but it’s a close call.

Is it smart to start Christian Watson over Tetairoa McMillan this week despite his matchup?

Watson has been outstanding this year, averaging 14.4 PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he has averaged six targets, a touchdown, and 16 fantasy points per game since the Green Bay Packers lost Tucker Kraft to a season-ending injury. However, Watson faces the Houston Texans in Week 15, arguably the NFL’s best defense. While he has been outstanding lately, I would feel more confident starting McMillan against the New Orleans Saints than Watson against the league’s top defense.

Waiver Wire Questions

Who is your favorite streaming quarterback for the first round of the fantasy playoffs?

There are two streaming options I think are undervalued this week. Sam Darnold was outstanding last week despite the slow start, totaling 249 passing yards, three touchdowns, and 22.3 fantasy points against the Atlanta Falcons, posting his best mark in every category since Week 9. Meanwhile, Tyler Shough is an excellent option in deeper leagues. The rookie has played well since his first career start, averaging 227 passing yards, a touchdown, and 16.4 fantasy points per game over the past four contests.

Should I drop Troy Franklin for Luther Burden III?

I don’t think either wide receiver is going to matter much during the fantasy playoffs, as neither player has a significant role on their team’s offense. However, I would drop Franklin for Burden. Unfortunately, Franklin has seven targets since the bye week, totaling 4.1 PPR fantasy points in both games. Meanwhile, Burden has averaged 5.5 targets per game over the past month, totaling at least six in back-to-back contests. Furthermore, he was the Chicago Bears’ best wide receiver in Week 14 with Rome Odunze injured.

Which Miami Dolphins running back is De’Von Achane‘s handcuff?

This is the million-dollar question this week after Achane left Sunday’s win over the New York Jets with a rib injury. Thankfully, it sounds like the star running back has a really good chance of playing Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ideally, fantasy players can get Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II off the waiver wire. However, I would prioritize Wright over Gordon. Last week, Wright had more touches (24 vs. 5) and fantasy points (16.7 vs. 7.7) than Gordon against the Jets.

Outlook Questions

Is it time to give up on Justin Jefferson after last week’s performance?

Unfortunately, there is no way fantasy players can trust Jefferson during the playoffs. I held out hope last week for the superstar because of his matchup against the Washington Commanders. While J.J. McCarthy was outstanding, totaling three passing touchdowns, Jefferson had only two receptions on four targets for 11 receiving yards and 3.1 PPR fantasy points. He has scored 8.8 or fewer fantasy points in four of the past five games. Despite a fantasy-friendly matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Jefferson is a risky WR3 in Week 15.

What are the odds of Drake London playing this week or next week?

London was listed as a non-participant on Monday’s practice estimate, meaning his odds of playing this week are slim since the Atlanta Falcons face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. The star wide receiver will have missed four consecutive games if he sits out Thursday’s contest with a knee injury. Unfortunately, fantasy players should prepare to be without London for the rest of the season. Atlanta has been eliminated from playoff contention, giving the team no reason to bring back their injured star wide receiver.

Dynasty Questions

Would you trade Justin Herbert and a late 2026 first-round pick for Lamar Jackson if you are making a playoff push?

I don’t hate this trade if you really believe that Herbert’s playoff schedule and injury could keep you from winning the championship this year. He was solid Monday night, scoring 12.2 fantasy points, totaling a team-high 66 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Jackson scored 21.1 fantasy points in Week 14. However, he had zero touchdowns over the previous three weeks, averaging 6.2 fantasy points per game, scoring 7.2 or fewer in every contest. Furthermore, Jackson faces the New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers during the fantasy playoffs.

Should I trade Dak Prescott for Jayden Daniels if I’m out of the playoff mix?

Sometimes you need to make a trade late in the season or during the fantasy playoffs to win the championship. However, it is also the perfect time for non-playoff or eliminated teams to make a move for the future. I would happily flip Prescott for Daniels, especially if I weren’t a playoff team. While Prescott has been outstanding this year, the veteran turns 33 this offseason. By comparison, Daniels turns 25 next week and has the best years of his career still ahead of him.
