Aaron Civale allowed four earned runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four over 2 1/3 innings in Friday's loss to the White Sox.

Civale has struggled to miss opposing bats of late, allowing three earned runs or more in six of his last seven contests. The right-hander remains another underwhelming option in the Athletics rotation to this point for manager Mark Kotsay, posting a 5.42 ERA and 1.62 WHIP with a 5-7 record and 7.0 K/9 ratio across 16 appearances.
