Fantasy Football Player Notes

Turns out, ARSB can have a down week. After a hot start, the star receiver crashed back to earth with four catches for 19 yards against the Jets. Thankfully, he managed to catch his fifth touchdown of the season, saving his fantasy day. This week, the Lions face the Panthers on Sunday Night Football, in what could be a barn burner. Neither defense has looked serviceable this season, and both offenses have displayed their share of fireworks. On paper, the Panthers have been good against the pass, allowing the fifth-fewest passing yards per game. However, that's partly because they struggle to stop the run. This could turn into another Jahmyr Gibbs game, but ARSB's usage and touchdown affinity keep him as a top fantasy option.

Oh, the yearly struggle with rostering Jameson Williams. He's the WR57 in fantasy points per game this season, and it has been a bumpy ride. Williams has a 10% target share, 1.19 YPRR, zero red zone targets, one deep target, and a 14% first-read share. I don't know if Williams' struggles are resolved this week. Carolina has the fifth-highest single high rate in the NFL (63.5%). Williams has been an afterthought against single high this season with an 11% target-per-route run rate and 0.70 YPRR. It's possible that he does bounce back this week, though. Last year, Williams had a 22% target-per-route run rate and 2.31 YPRR against single high. Carolina has been tough against perimeter wide receivers, but they just lost Jaycee Horn, so take these numbers with a grain of salt. Carolina has allowed the sixth-fewest yards per target and fourth-fewest fantasy points per opportunity to perimeter wide receivers. Williams is a volatile flex play this week, but his ceiling is sky-high if his usage changes against a matchup that isn't as scary as it seems on paper.
