Fantasy Baseball Prospect Report: Player Updates & Stashes (2025)

Hey, friends. Welcome to my weekly prospect report. The goal of this column is to give you the most fantasy-relevant prospect information throughout the last week, all in one place.

The format of this weekly prospect report will be by level, and we will go through players in order of their placement in my preseason prospect rankings. The next prospect rankings update will be in mid-to-late May.

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Report

I won’t hit on every prospect every week, but will focus on the most relevant prospects throughout the week and will follow up with other notable players. This article will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the Minors who have outlived their prospect status. I am showing only 2024 season stats until we start reaching relevant sample sizes in May for 2025.

NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched at the Major League level. All stats are up-to-date as of Sunday, April 20th.

MLB Hitters

21. Luke Keaschall (2B – MIN)

  • 2024 A+/AA: .303/.420/.483 | 13.4 BB% / 17.2 K% | 37 XBH, 15 HR, 23 SB (102 games)
  • This Week (MLB): 3/9 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
  • ETA: Late 2025 (Late July/August)
  • fScores: 96 fContact, 110 fDiscipline, 86 fPower, 137 fSpeed
  • Age: 22
  • Comp: Jordan Westburg/Matt McLain mash-up
  • Prime Skills: Luke Keaschall has great bat speed with killer exit velocities. The home run power should be greater and will increase as he ages. He was having a strong season with consistent week-in and week-out production. While the swing reminds me of Jordan Westburg, I think there’s also a bit of a Matt McLain profile, but with a more consistent hit tool thanks to the plate skills.
  • Player Notes: Keaschall only played two games at the Major League level this week, but he already has two extra-base hits and a steal. He’s already hitting second for the Twins in his second game.

73. Cam Smith (3B – HOU)

  • 2024 College: .387/.488/.654 | 39 XBH, 16 HR, 4 SB
  • A/A+/AA: .313/.396/.609 | 11.2 BB% / 17.9 K%| 16 XBH, 7 HR, 2 SB
  • This Week: 4/17 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 22
  • ETA: Late 2025
  • fScores: 96 fContact, 89 fDiscipline, 102 fPower, 81 fSpeed
  • Comp: Josh Jung with shades of Manny Machado
  • Prime Skills Cam Smith began his Minor League career on a complete tear, outpacing his college profile. He’s very stoic at the plate, very calm with a great eye and quick hands to get to any pitch and crush it. He hits to all fields. If the Astros can teach him to pull more into the Crawford boxes, there’s quite a bit more power upside here.
  • Player Notes: Cam Smith is starting to break out of his rookie slump to start the season with a few homers on the season now.

87. Edgar Quero (C – CWS)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: .280/.366/.463 | 9.7 BB%, 17.4 K% | 32 XBH, 16 HR, 1 SB (98 games)
  • This Week: 3/9 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Early 2025
  • fScores: 96 fContact, 113 fDiscipline, 76 fPower, 67 fSpeed
  • Comp: Yasmani Grandal with less power and a better hit tool
  • Prime Skills: Edgar Quero has fantastic plate discipline with more walks than strikeouts as a young 21-year-old at AA. He has 20-ish home run power and can steal a few bags as a rare switch-hitting catcher.
  • Player Notes: Quero made his debut this week with his best game as of yet occurring on Saturday, where he went 2-for-4. The White Sox are starting to get interesting.

Notable MLB Hitters Outside the Top 150

Caleb Durbin (2B, SS, 3B – MIL)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 2/6 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
  • Notes: Caleb Durbin was promoted this week and started hitting out of the gate with a 2-for-4 game.

Chase Meidroth (SS, 3B CWS)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 7/26 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
  • Notes: Meidroth has shown a nice plate approach in his first week in the Majors, including a nice game on Saturday — 3-for-5 with a steal.

MLB Pitchers

11. Jackson Jobe (SP -DET)

  • 2024 AA: 91 2/3 IP | 13.6 K-BB% 12.3 SwStr%, 30.5 CSW% | 2.36 ERA, 1.12 WHIP
  • 2024 MLB: 4 IP | 6.3 K-BB%, 4.2 SwStr%, 25 CSW% | 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
  • This Week: 5 IP | 5 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
  • Age: 22
  • ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
  • fScores: 100 fStuff, 99 fControl, 110 fERA
  • Comp: George Kirby
  • Prime Skills: Jackson Jobe has excellent command of his pitches for someone his age and has a ton of spin on his pitches. The fastball is riding as an above-average pitch, but it allows him to use his elite slider to get strikeouts. The walk rate is higher this year, but I think it’s an aberration and wouldn’t be too concerned. There seems to be a bit of a pitch mix issue in why his killer stuff has not played as well as it should.
  • Player Notes: Jobe has done well at preventing damage, but we would like to see more strikeouts moving forward.

34. Kumar Rocker (SP – TEX)

  • 2024 CPX/AA/AAA: 36 2/3 IP | 36 K-BB%, 22 SwStr%, 36.9 CSW% | 1.96 ERA, 0.79 WHIP
  • 2024 MLB: 11 2/3 IP | 14.5 K-BB%, 13.3 SwStr%, 28 CSW% | 3.86 ERA, 1.54 WHIP
  • This Week: 7 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 3.86 ERA, 0.71 WHIP
  • Age: 25
  • ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
  • fScores: 114 fStuff, 104 fControl, 154 fERA
  • Comp: Hunter Greene with a better slider (12/6)/worse fastball
  • Prime Skills: Kumar Rocker is a large pitcher with a dominant fastball/slider combo. He throws 97-99 with one of the best hard vertical sliders you will see. There’s a below-average change-up in there, too, that he has to throw to mix things up. I have Rocker ranked as a top-60 starter for 2025, which is aggressive and will depend on the workload, but the fScores love him and he was amazing in his small 2024 sample size.
  • Player Notes: Rocker is coming off the best MLB start of his career. Hopefully, he can keep it up.

86. Logan Henderson (SP – MIL)

  • 2024 CPX/A+/AA/AAA: 81 1/3 IP | 28.1 K-BB%, 15 SwStr%, 31.6 CSW% | 3.32 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
  • This Week: 6 IP | 4 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP
  • Age: 23
  • ETA: Mid 2025
  • fScores: 105 fStuff, 106 fControl, 110 fERA
  • Comp: Spencer Strider-light (dude has some quads) and really ramps up
  • Prime Skills: Logan Henderson is of slight build (5-foot-11) and has jumped up a couple of levels already this season after destroying at Low-A most of last season. He has excellent command and a nice fastball/change-up combo. The fastball runs 94-96 miles per hour (MPH), and the change-up is one of the better ones in the Minors.
  • Player Notes: Henderson was called up at the beginning of the week. He threw six innings in his debut, allowing one walk, one earned run and three hits, en route to the win. He also struck out nine batters.

Notable MLB Pitchers Outside the Top 150

J.T. Ginn (SP – ATH)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 5.79 ERA, 1.29 WHIP
  • Notes: J.T. Ginn had a nice second start, despite allowing three earned runs. He is showing increased strikeout stuff this season despite mostly being a two-pitch guy.

AAA Hitters

2. Roman Anthony (OF – BOS)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: .291/.396/.498 | 14.6 BB%, 23.5 K% | 54 XBH, 18 HR, 21 SB
  • This Week: 9/24 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Mid 2025
  • fScores: 98 fContact, 129 fDiscipline, 97 fPower, 117 fSpeed
  • Comp: Jarred Kelenic with a better eye
  • Prime Skills: Roman Anthony has good vision with a strong power tool for a young kid who still needs to fill out. He could be a five-tool player, but he needs to be more consistent on the base paths for steals to be a big part of his game long term. The max and 90th percentile exit velocities rate out a little better than Dominguez (112.5 and 108.4, respectively), but he is not nearly as aggressive in the zone and might have a little bit of a Lars Nootbaar streak to him.
  • Player Notes: Anthony is only hitting the ball in the air about 23% of the time, but he’s also hitting the ball at an average 98 exit velocity with a 90th percentile exit velocity of 109.3 on the season.

14. Matt Shaw (2B, 3B – CHC)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: .284/.379/.488 | 11.9 BB%, 18.2 K% | 44 XBH, 21 HR, 31 SB
  • This Week: 2/7 | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 23
  • ETA: Opening Day
  • fScores: 95 fContact, 86 fDiscipline, 96 fPower, 168 fSpeed
  • Comp: Jonathan India with more speed
  • Prime Skills: Matt Shaw has a solid plate approach that should develop as he gets time in the bigs with above-average power and speed. For 2025 fantasy, think of Colt Keith’s production plus 25 steals or so. He could be one of the better second basemen in the majors sooner rather than later (if he gets to play there rather than at third base). He has the power and speed combo to put up some 20/20-type seasons. Shaw works to some good launch angles (14.4 average launch angle) that should help the bat play up.
  • Player Notes: Shaw was sent back down to the Minors to work on his swing as he had changed his timing in the offseason.

17. Coby Mayo (3B – BAL)

  • 2024 AAA: .293/.372/.592 | 10.3 BB%, 25.1 K% | 54 XBH, 25 HR, 4 SB
  • Age: 22
  • This Week: 7/24 (6 BBs) | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • ETA: Early 2025 (debuted in 2024, return in May/June?)
  • fScores: 92 fContact, 90 fDiscipline, 111 fPower, 69 fSpeed
  • Comp: Nolan Arenado as a hitter (with better power, but a worse hit tool)
  • Prime Skills: Coby Mayo has a quick and powerful swing that portends to future 25-30-ish homer power with five-ish steal speed. He has an average enough hit tool (82.3% Z-Contact%), but the potential strikeout rate is a bit concerning if he can’t hold it down closer to 25% at the Major League level. The contract rates are still slightly below average, but the near 115 max exit velocity and a 90.7 average exit velocity mean Mayo has some of the best power in this prospect group. He needs the Orioles to find him a full-time position.
  • Player Notes: Mayo is itching for a call-up with another strong week and should probably be the starting first baseman for the Orioles. He has a 27% line drive rate on the season.

20. Jordan Lawlar (SS – ARI)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: .318/.417/.485 | 9 XBH, 2 HR, 6 SB (23 games)
  • Age: 22
  • This Week: 8/22 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 3 SB
  • ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
  • fScores: 100 fContact, 104 fDiscipline, 93 fPower, 168 fSpeed
  • Comp: Trea Turner-lite with some Derek Jeter
  • Prime Skills: Jordan Lawlar has a nice power swing, but it may impact his contact ability in the Majors. He has all fields power and ridiculous speed; he’s a very aggressive base runner and puts himself in good positions to make things happen on top of having way-above-average plate discipline for his age.
  • Player Notes: I took Lawlar in TGFBI draft expecting him to break camp as a super-utility every day multi-position player. It hasn’t happened yet, though, despite an excellent start to the season.

53. Justin Crawford (OF – PHI)

  • 2024 A+/AA: .313/.360/.444 | 6.4 BB%, 18.7 K% | 38 XBH, 9 HR, 42 SB (110 games)
  • This Week: 7/24 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Early 2026
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Carl Crawford with less power (Taller Juan Pierre?)
  • Prime Skills: Justin Crawford has speed — lightning speed, just like his dad. The hit tool is developing, and the plate skills are improving. Now we are getting 10-15 home run power to go along with the rest of the tools.
  • Player Notes: We have not seen any power gains from Crawford as he’s hitting the ball on the ground 60% of the time, but he’s hitting for a high average and getting a bunch of steals.

75. Moises Ballesteros (C – CHC)

  • 2024 AA/AAA Stats: .289/.354/.471 | 8.9 BB%, 18.3 K% | 44 XBH, 19 HR, 1 SB
  • This Week: 11/22 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Early 2025
  • fScores: 95 fContact, 86 fDiscipline, 85 fPower, 67 fSpeed
  • Comp: Lefty-only Pablo Sandoval with more pop
  • Prime Skills: Moises Ballesteros has an above-average hit tool and power for a catcher, but he has a bad body ala Pablo Sandoval, which may negatively impact him down the line. He showed even more power in the Arizona Fall League and is advanced as a hitter for his age with six bombs there.
  • Player Notes: It was bombs away for Ballesteros, who had a killer week. He is a good enough hitter to be in the Majors at this point. It may make sense for him to work into a catcher/designated hitter role.

85. Dylan Beavers (OF – BAL)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: .242/.342/.408 | 12.8 BB%, 23.5 K% | 40 XBH, 15 HR, 31 SB
  • This Week: 6/21 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
  • Age: 23
  • ETA: Late 2025
  • fScores: 87 fContact, 105 fDiscipline, 86 fPower, 176 fSpeed
  • Comp: Kyle Tucker-lite with a worse hit tool. Maybe a Tommy Pham profile
  • Prime Skills: Dylan Beavers is a big lefty outfielder who killed it in the doubles department last year and is now transitioning some of that into home run power. There’s a potential 25/25 player here if he can hit enough to make it work.
  • Player Notes: Beavers is a streaky hitter. He’s on a hot streak to start the season, but as an Oriole, he is big-time blocked at the Major League level.

104. Kevin Alcantara (OF – CHC)

  • 2024 AA: .278/.353/.428 | 9.9 BB%, 25 K% | 35 XBH, 14 HR, 14 SB
  • This Week: 7/23 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • Age: 22
  • ETA: Early 2025 (debuted in 2024)
  • fScores: 97 fContact, 89 fDiscipline, 88 fPower, 118 fSpeed
  • Comp: Righty Shawn Green with more swing and miss
  • Prime Skills: Kevin Alcantara has a wiry frame with projectable power once he starts filling out. For now, he’s filling out more in the Elly De La Cruz mold. He’s still pretty raw, as the swing is a little too loopy, which leads to a lot of swings and misses. However, he can crush it when he connects.
  • Player Notes: Alcantara is hitting the ball hard so far this year with an average exit velocity of 94 and a 90th percentile exit velocity of 110. He’s also keeping the ball off the ground, which is his key as someone who has always hit too many groundballs.

2024 Fantasy Baseball Closers Depth Charts Handcuffs

AAA Pitchers

27. Bubba Chandler (SP – PIT)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: 119 2/3 IP | 22.3 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr%, 29.5 CSW% | 3.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
  • This Week: 8 2/3 IP (2 starts) | 11 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.12 ERA, 0.58 WHIP
  • Age: 22
  • ETA: Early/Mid 2025
  • fScores: 106 fStuff, 95 fControl, 109 fERA
  • Comp: Luis Gil with a Zach Wheeler slider
  • Prime Skills: Bubba Chandler is a big fastball and slider pitcher, known as a dual-sport athlete, finally focusing on baseball rather than football. There is a lot of upside here as he has never been focused only on baseball until a couple of years ago; he had committed to Clemson to play quarterback. He throws 97-99 miles per hour (MPH) with a 12/6 killer vertical slider and a sick change-up with nice fade that tunnels well against his other two pitches.
  • Player Notes: We are a few of these types of starts away from a Chandler call-up as the Pirates are building him up still.

40. Zebby Matthews (SP – MIN)

  • 2024 A+/AA/AAA: 97 IP | 28.6 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr%, 29.9 CSW% | 2.60 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
  • 2024 MLB: 37 2/3 IP | 18.1 K-BB%, 11.3 SwStr%, 26.2 CSW% | 6.69 ERA, 1.65 WHIP
  • This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Age: 25
  • ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
  • fScores: 103 fStuff, 122 fControl, 112 fERA
  • Comp: Zach Eflin outcome with a better fastball
  • Prime Skills: Zebby Matthews is a big righty out of Western Carolina at 6-foot-five and 225 pounds. His curveball is his best weapon, though he has a decent heater that plays better up in the zone. The control is his best attribute as the dude has only walked 18 hitters on the entire season.
  • Player Notes: Matthews is worthy of a rotation spot with the big league club, but the Twins have too many pitchers, even with Pablo Lopez out until they decide to remove Chris Paddack from the rotation.

72. SP Caden Dana (Angels)

  • 2024 AA: 135 2/3 IP | 20.1 K-BB%, 12.6 SwStr%, 27.7 CSW% | 2.52 ERA, 0.94 WHIP
  • 2024 MLB: 10 1/3 IP | 1.9 K-BB%, 11.2 SwStr%, 26.2 CSW% | 9.58 ERA, 2.03 WHIP
  • This Week: 7 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.57 WHIP
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: May/June 2025 (debuted in 2024)
  • fScores: 98 fStuff, 103 fControl, 125 fERA
  • Comp: Young Noah Syndergaard
  • Prime Skills: Caden Dana looks like vintage Syndergaard on the mound with his hair, 94-95 miles per hour (MPH) fastball and power slider. The curve is only average, but he has a pretty nifty two-seamer to pair against the four-seamer with some nice ride.
  • Player Notes: Dana’s fastball has performed far below average despite averaging near 95 MPH, while his slider and change-up have been his strikeout pitches to date. He’s been fastball-heavy at a near 60% rate, but he should mix the secondaries in more.

Notable AAA Pitchers Outside the Top 150

Chase Petty (SP – CIN)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 9 2/3 IP (2 starts) | 12 Ks, 3 BBs | 1.86 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
  • Notes: Chase Petty has been averaging close to 96 MPH on the heater this year, but the slider/sweeper combo has been devastating, as they are both hitting around a 36% CSW rate at a near 40% usage between the two pitches.

AJ Blubaugh (SP – HOU)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
  • Notes: I saw AJ Blubaugh this spring, and he got hit up pretty good, but it’s nice to see some of these repeat AAA guys making gains. His 92.5 MPH fastball is slaying at a 42.3% CSW rate, and the sweeper has an over 30% SwStr% this season.

Fantasy Baseball Trade Chart

AA Hitters

9. Sebastian Walcott (SS – TEX)

  • 2024 A+/AA: .265/.344/.452 | 10.3 BB%, 25.6 K% | 54 XBH, 11 HR, 27 SB
  • This Week: 6/19 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 19
  • ETA: Late 2026
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Fernando Tatis Jr.-lite
  • Prime Skills: Sebastian Walcott is super raw — a huge 18-year-old kid with power for days. He needs to further develop the hit tool and plate skills, but the tools are there. He debuted at High-A as a 17-year-old. We are just now seeing him come into his own as the second half of the season was phenomenal with a .293/.350/.496 triple slash line with 32 extra-base hits (XBH) and 19 stolen bases in his last 58 games.
  • Player Notes: Walcott continues to roll without a huge week thus far, but he’s playing very well across the board, especially on an age-to-level basis.

13. JJ Wetherholt (SS – STL)

  • 2024 College: .331/.472/.589 | 16 XBH, 8 HR, 6 SB (36 games)
  • 2024 A: .295/.405/.400 | 12.7 BB%, 11.9 K% | 7 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB (29 games)
  • This Week: 8/16 (3 BBs) | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 22
  • ETA: Early 2026
  • fScores: 99 fContact, 126 fDiscipline, 79 fPower, 128 fSpeed
  • Comp: Corbin Carroll/Marcus Semien mash-up
  • Prime Skills: JJ Wetherholt hits the crap out of the ball for a smaller guy, is athletic and has a great eye at the plate. He has a quick and easy swing with great bat control that will likely lead to an early career high doubles profile that later translates into more power as he gets closer to his peak. Wetherholt had an average exit velocity of 91.8 to go along with an aggressively effective approach in the zone with a 73.4% Z-Swing rate and only a 14.1% chase rate.
  • Player Notes: Wetherholt has been tearing it up the last 10 games or so and is an all-around beast across the board as a hitter.

22. Spencer Jones (OF – NYY)

  • 2024 AA: .259/.336/.452 | 9.9 BB%, 36.8 K% | 53 XBH, 17 HR, 25 SB
  • This Week: 6/25 | 4 XBH, 4 HR, 2 SB
  • Age: 24
  • ETA: Late 2025
  • fScores: 106 fContact, 68 fDiscipline, 96 fPower, 138 fSpeed
  • Comp: Shohei Ohtani-super lite (just the hitter) meets Adolis Garcia
  • Prime Skills: Spencer Jones is huge at 6-foot-6 and has ridiculous power potential with decent speed to boot. Everyone wants to compare him to Aaron Judge since they are both Yankees, but I think Shohei Ohtani makes more sense, even the stance is similar to Ohtani’s. Jones has a ton of sneaky speed to go along with the huge power potential, but the swing has some holes in it.
  • Player Notes: Tons of power and speed so far, but the hit tool is still quite a bit behind for Jones.

52. Jett Williams (2B, SS – NYM)

  • 2023 A/A+/AA: .263/.425/.451 | 43 XBH, 13 HR, 45 SB
  • 2024 A/AA/AAA: .215/.358/.298 | 14.9 BB%, 23.6 K% | 9 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB (33 games)
  • This Week: 5/22 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Mid-Late 2025 (July / August)
  • fScores: 86 fContact, 146 fDiscipline, 78 fPower, 148 fSpeed
  • Comp: Jose Altuve build with Edouard Julien’s approach with speed (think Nico Hoerner stats)
  • Prime Skills: Jett Williams has plate skills and speed. The contact tool is still developing, but should ultimately be a good tool for Williams. His quality contact is lacking right now. Williams has non-zero power. His quick swing leads to a surprising number of extra-base hits.
  • Player Notes: Williams had an extra-base cycle this week with a double, triple, home run and also steal.

62. Cooper Pratt (SS – MIL)

  • 2024 A/A+: .277/.362/.406 | 10.3 BB%, 20 K% | 26 XBH, 8 HR, 27 SB (96 games)
  • This Week: 8/26 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  • Age: 20
  • ETA: 2027
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Giant Ha-Seong Kim
  • Prime Skills: Cooper Pratt is a huge, athletic shortstop who far away as a high school prospect, but he has five-tool potential, especially due to his size. He hit for more power in High-A, which was my biggest concern, despite the size. Ignore some of the batting average worries at this level, as he was running a low batting average on balls in play (BABIP) in the 23-game sample size.
  • Player Notes: Pratt is the only player in the Southern League who even made this list, as the league is incredibly difficult for hitters and one of the easier leagues for pitchers.

Notable AA Hitters Outside the Top 150

Jace Bohrofen (OF – TOR)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 9/23 | 4 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
  • Notes: Jace Bohrofen was a sixth-rounder in 2023. He had a nice 2023 debut with a rougher 2024, but it looks like he is hitting the ball harder this year, though it has come at a cost with a near 36% strikeout rate.

Victor Bericoto (OF – SF)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 10/19 | 6 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
  • Notes: Victor Bericoto is another hitter who had a strong 2023 season but a rougher 2024 season. He can hit for power, though, and is worth keeping an eye on.

Dylan Jasso (3B – NYY)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 7/21 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
  • Notes: Dylan Jasso is someone I saw a few times personally last season, and I felt like he’s a good hitter who should perform at a higher rate than we had seen. The Yankees aggressively pushed him past High-A to AA this year.

Mikey Romero (SS – BOS)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 7/17 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
  • Notes: Mikey Romero had a nice 2024, and it’s good to see him continuing the mini breakout.

Jack Brannigan (3B – PIT)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 7/18 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Jack Brannigan was a top 150 prospect back in 2023, but has had contact issues and has been very streaky.

AA Pitchers

106. Jarlin Susana (SP – WSH)

  • 2024 A/A+: 103 2/3 IP | 24.5 K-BB%, 17.5 SwStr%, 33.4 CSW% | 4.34 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
  • This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 10 Ks, 3 BBs | 3.86 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Mid 2026
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Paul Skenes-lite
  • Prime Skills: Another 6-foot-6 righty for the Nationals, but Jarlin Susana came to them in the Juan Soto trade from San Diego… the gift trade that keeps on giving. Susana has an insane 100-102 MPH fastball with a 94 MPH change-up and 87-91 MPH power slider that continues to improve.
  • Player Notes: Susana is spitting fire and striking tons of dudes out, but it looks like he may have kid gloves on this season in regards to innings pitched.

121. George Klassen (SP – LAA)

  • 2024 A/A+/AA: 93 IP | 23.2 K-BB%, 15.3 SwStr%, 33.8 CSW% | 3.10 ERA, 1.18 WHIP
  • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Age: 23
  • ETA: Late 2025 (cup of coffee)
  • fScores: 102 fStuff, 87 fControl, 107 fERA
  • Comp: Luis Gil
  • Prime Skills: George Klassen is a major pop-up prospect as a 2023 sixth-rounder who has increased velocity with a 98-99 MPH rising fastball, 91 MPH sweeper, and 87 MPH vertical hard slider.
  • Player Notes: Klassen has had control issues in the past, but you can’t argue about the quality of his stuff. This is a nice step forward.

127. Hunter Barco (SP – PIT)

  • 2024 A+/AA: 66 IP | 22.9 K-BB%, 14.1 SwStr%, 30.1 CSW% | 3.27 ERA, 1.06 WHIP
  • This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
  • Age: 23
  • ETA: Mid 2025
  • fScores: 103 fStuff, 98 fControl, 97 fERA
  • Comp: Chris Sale-lite with Brandon Williamson
  • Prime Skills: Hunter Barco is a big lefty with an almost sidearm delivery playing up a killer slider with excellent command. It looks like he put on some size since his pre-draft days at Florida, which might help in building up the innings and trying to add velo to the fastball.
  • Player Notes: Barco has had two very nice starts in a row. The key for him is to maintain health.

130. Robby Snelling (SP – MIA)

  • 2024 AA/AAA: 115 1/3 IP | 13.8 K-BB%, 12.2 SwStr% | 5.15 ERA, 1.52 WHIP
  • This Week: 6 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Early 2025
  • fScores: 93 fStuff, 96 fControl, fERA 104
  • Comp: Jesus Luzardo-light
  • Prime Skills: The 3/4 arm-slot helps create a lot of deception between his fastball and slider, which also gets classified as a curveball, so we will call it a slurve. Robby Snelling is a three-pitch guy with an above-average fastball, a good change-up and a stellar breaking pitch with a knack for avoiding hard contact.
  • Player Notes: Snelling has been fantastic all season and is back to his 2023 form.

Notable AA Pitchers Outside the Top 150

Lucas Braun (SP – ATL)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 6 2/3 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
  • Notes: This is Lucaas Braun’s second week on the list this season. He is pitching in the Southern League, so just keep that detail in mind.

Nolan McLean (SP – NYM)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 6 IP | 8 Ks, 4 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Notes: This is Nolan McLean’s second time on the list as he continues to dominate with his ridiculous slider. He is still working on command as a former position player and pitcher until this season.

Blake Adams (SP – COL)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 5.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Notes: Blake Adams has always been a control pitcher with below-average swinging strike stuff. It will be interesting to see if he discovered something here after two consecutive strong starts and hitting this list twice in a row.

Jack Wenninger (SP – NYM)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
  • Notes: Jack Wenninger has been nasty so far this year, and while he always had solid swinging strike stuff in his Minor League career, he seems to have taken a step forward. I’d love to have some Statcast data on his arsenal after a third strong start.

Yordanny Monegro (SP – BOS)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 4 IP | 9 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Notes: Yordanny Monegro has now made this list two times this season. He’s beasting out with some ridiculous swinging strike rates to begin the year at 24.5% on the overall arsenal.

Kohl Drake (SP – TEX)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
  • Notes: Drake was older for the level last year and was right outside of the top 150 to finish the year. I would like to see him move aggressively this season.

Blake Burkhalter (SP – ATL)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
  • Notes: The 2022 second-rounder has struggled since returning from Tommy John surgery last year, but his last start may have been a positive step forward.

2024 Fantasy Baseball Probable Pitchers Two Start Pitchers

A+ Hitters

18. Leodalis De Vries (SS – SD)

  • 2024 A: .237/.361/.441 | 13.9 BB%, 23.3 K% | 36 XBH, 11 HR, 13 SB (75 games)
  • This Week: 3/18 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 18
  • ETA: 2027
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Switch-hitting Alfonso Soriano at shortstop
  • Prime Skills: Leodalis De Vries has super high upside across the board and is a five-tool talent. However, at 17 years old, he is way above his age-to-level. De Vries is electric and has a long swing despite quick hands, giving me that Alfonso Soriano feeling. He had a 116 wRC+ as a 17-year-old, which, translating age-to-level, might place him closer to around 160-170.
  • Player Notes: De Vries is off to a tough start at High-A from a contact standpoint. As you can see, with all of his hits being extra base hits, at least he’s making hard contact.

41. Michael Arroyo (2B, SS – SEA)

  • 2024 A/A+: .285/.400/.509 | 12.3 BB%, 23 K% | 56 XBH, 23 HR, 18 SB
  • This Week: 6/21 (6 BBs) | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 20
  • ETA: Mid 2026
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: More athletic Ronnie Belliard build with a Jorge Polanco-ish to Matt McLain-lite profile.
  • Prime Skills: Michael Arroyo is a short, swinging, stocky athlete with quick hands and a ton of power in his fire hydrant frame, along with some speed. He has a good plate approach and an above-average contact tool, which led to his 2024 breakout.
  • Player Notes: Arroyo had a rough start to the season, but the plate approach is still strong, and he’s coming along with four extra-base hits this week.

65. Josue Briceno (C – DET)

  • 2024 A: .319/.402/.529 | 12.2 BB%, 14.6 K% | 29 XBH, 7 HR, 3 SB
  • This Week: 6/22 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 20
  • ETA: Late 2026
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Bigger MJ Melendez with a better hit tool
  • Prime Skills: Josue Briceno is a huge 6-foot-5 catcher who will probably move off due to his size. He has not developed the power to match his exit velocities or size, but the hit tool has been spectacular, as are the plate skills. Plus, the power came along in the Arizona Fall League, where he cranked 17 extra-base hits, including 10 bombs and a .433/.509/.867 slash line.
  • Player Notes: Briceno’s power has started coming around over the last week as he transitions to High-A this season after the strong spring.

96. Zyhir Hope (OF – LAD)

  • 2024 CPX/A: .290/.419/.484 | 15.1 BB% / 22.8 K%| 25 XBH, 9 HR, 9 SB (61 games)
  • This Week: 8/27 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • Age: 20
  • ETA: Late 2026
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Lean Josh Naylor
  • Prime Skills: Zyhir Hope is a shorter player with quick hands and a beautiful lefty swing with some major lefty pull power. He has excellent plate skills to go along with the plus hit tool and the plus power he has shown in Single-A ball and the Fall League, where he hit five bombs in 23 games.
  • Player Notes: You have to love the extra-base hits from Hope, as he should climb to AA fast this season.

Notable A+ Hitters Outside the Top 150

George Lombard (SS – NYY)

  • Season: .333/.500/.487 | 22.2 BB%, 20.4 K% | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 7 SB
  • This Week: 7/15 (6 BB) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 5 SB
  • Notes: George Lombard is off to a very strong start to the season this year, and I love to see the aggressiveness on the basepaths. The new build is already playing dividends as he transforms from a guy with a nice plate approach ala Cole Young into a guy who can contribute to fantasy categories.

Jacob Reimer (3B – NYM)

  • Season: .373/.431/.706 | 10.5 BB%, 22.8 K% | 10 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
  • This Week: 10/19 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • Notes: Jacob Reimer was the Mets’ fourth-round pick in 2022. He didn’t play much in 2024 due to some injuries, but he’s looking strong to start the 2025 season.

Dylan Campbell (OF – PHI)

  • Season: .250/.345/.542 | 12.7 BB%, 21.8 K% | 7 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
  • This Week: 10/22 (5 BB) | 6 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Dylan Campbell was a Dodgers fourth-rounder in 2022. He has nice tools, but has not been able to access the hit tool to date.

Yophery Rodriguez (OF – BOS)

  • Season: .300/.451/.575 | 21.6 BB%, 15.7 K% | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • This Week: 5/18 (7 BB) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Yophery Rodriguez was traded from the Brewers to the Red Sox recently for Quinn Priester, and he’s already been tearing it up for the new organization.

Christopher Suero (C – NYM)

  • Season: .295/.380/.773 | 8 BB%, 36 K% | 11 XBH, 5 HR, 4 SB
  • This Week: 6/11 (5 BB) | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 4 SB
  • Notes: Christopher Suero was impressive in the Florida Complex League in 2023, but had a rough 2024. The strong start this year is a little BABIP-fueled, but let’s see if he carries it forward after a nice week.

Jeral Perez (3B – CWS)

  • Season: .263/.373/.612 | 15.3 BB%, 28.8 K% | 8 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
  • This Week: 6/20 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
  • Notes: Jeral Perez is a guy who’s been in my top 250 prospect range. He was traded from the Dodgers to the White Sox in the Erick FeddeTommy Edman trade last season.

Jose Devers (SS – CLE)

  • Season: .288/.383/.654 | 10 BB%, 30 K% | 11 XBH, 4 HR, 4 SB
  • This Week: 7/21 | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Jose Devers is coming off a down 2024, after a very promising 2023 season. He’s Rafael Devers‘ cousin, so he does possibly have someone to lean on when it comes to making the most of his skillset. Like most player relatives, though, he does not have the upside of his cousin. This is his second time on the list this season.

Brett Callahan (OF – DET)

  • Season: .362/.404/.617 | 3.8 BB%, 21.2 K% | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 1SB
  • This Week: 7/18 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
  • Notes: Brett Callahan is a nice hitter with some speed. His batted ball profile has changed significantly this year and the power uptick might be for real.

Ryan Campos (C – STL)

  • Season: .250/.429/.469 | 23.8 BB%, 26.2 K% | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  • This Week: 5/16 (5 BB) | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  • Notes: The Cardinals are a catcher organization.

Kendall George (OF – LAD)

  • Season: .216/.344/.431 | 17.2 BB%, 26.6 K% | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 5 SB
  • This Week: 8/26 (5 BB) | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Ignore the batting average over the small sample size on the season; it’s carried by a low BABIP right now.

Tai Peete (OF – SEA)

  • Season: .218/.254/.400 | 3.4 BB%, 39 K% | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
  • This Week: 8/26 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Tai Peete is striking out a lot, but he showed the tools this week.

A+ Pitchers

19. Chase Burns (SP – CIN)

  • 2024 College: 100 IP | 191 Ks, 30 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 0.92 WHIP
  • This Week: 4 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 6.75 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Late 2025
  • fScores: 113 fStuff, 98 fControl, 101 fERA
  • Comp: Hunter Greene/Dylan Cease mash-up
  • Prime Skills: Chase Burns has an insane fastball/slider combo that could be one of the best in baseball. He’s bigger than some of the other pitchers with this type of fastball/slider combo. He could also just be a better version of Jared Jones.
  • Player Notes: Burns continues to ramp up and should probably be in AA at this point.

Notable A+ Pitchers Outside the Top 150

Brycen Mautz (SP – STL)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
  • Notes: I’ve seen Brycen Mautz live before, and he has a very interesting arm angle/delivery. His last start may have been the best of his career with some high heat.

David Davalillo (SP – TEX)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 0 BBs (0 hits) | 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP
  • Notes: David Davalillo went five perfect innings this week, but despite the improved performance, there has not been an uptick in the swinging strike rates.

Tyson Hardin (SP – MIL)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.88 WHIP
  • Notes: The Brewers are great at finding pitchers out of nowhere. Tyson Hardin has an 18.4% SwStr rate on the season.

Matt Wilkinson (SP – CLE)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
  • Notes: Matt Wilkinson is back after a killer 2024 and is repeating High-A to begin the season. The SwStr% was missing his first two starts until this week.

Clark Candiotti (SP – SD)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 3 2/3 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
  • Notes: The son of Tom Candiotti, Clark Candiotti was a fourth-rounder last year and is running a 16.3% SwStr rate on the season.

Daniel Eagen (SP – ARI)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 6 IP | 12 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
  • Notes: Daniel Eagen was the Diamondbacks’ third-rounder in 2024 and didn’t debut until this season, but is off to a killer start with a 19.1% SwStr rate in his first three starts.

Ben Hess (SP – NYY)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Notes: Ben Hess was the Yankees’ first-round pick in 2024 and made his MiLB debut last week. He has made the list two weeks running. Hess appears to be too good for this level.

A Hitters

47. Felnin Celesten (SS – SEA)

  • 2024 Cpx: .352/.431/.568 | 12.5 BB%, 19.4 K% | 17 XBH, 3 HR, 5 SB
  • This Week: 6/17 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
  • Age: 19
  • ETA: 2027
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Switch-hitting Gunnar Henderson with a little Juan Soto in the mechanics
  • Prime Skills: Felnin Celesten is a good-sized switch-hitting, athletic shortstop who was seen coming into the Complex Florida League as one of the top players. He has performed even better than expected. I’m especially impressed with the plate skills of such a raw talent.
  • Player Notes: Celesten is showing some nice wheels to start the season and has continued forward the superior hit tool and plate skills from last season.

60. Braden Montgomery (OF – CWS)

  • 2024 College: .322/.454/.611 | 32 XBH, 17 HR, 6 SB
  • This Week: 7/18 (5 BBs) | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
  • Age: 22
  • ETA: Mid 2026
  • fScores: N/A (need minor league data)
  • Comp: Bigger Jasson Dominguez with less speed
  • Prime Skills: Braden Montgomery is an athletic, switch-hitting power hitter. He has an arm as a former pitcher as well, and a quick, short swing where he gets to the ball no matter where it’s thrown.
  • Player Notes: I knew Montgomery would mash at this level, but the speed is a nice unexpected bonus.

63. Jesus Made (SS – MIL)

  • 2024 DSL: .331/.458/.554 | 18.1 BB%, 13 K% | 21 XBH, 6 HR, 28 SB (51 games)
  • This Week: 8/24 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 4 SB
  • Age: 18
  • ETA: Late 2027
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Smaller switch-hitting infield Christian Yelich profile and swing mechanics
  • Prime Skills: We don’t have a lot of data on the Dominican Summer League (DSL) prospects, but the stats speak for themselves here. Jesus Made has great plate skills. More walks than strikeouts is rare for DSL guys who put up these kinds of power and speed numbers. It’s hard to judge how the power and speed will translate as he increases levels, but he projects as a 20/30 type bat as his development continues.
  • Player Notes: Made is showing off wheels as well as one of the younger players at the Low-A level.

83. Konnor Griffin (SS, OF – PIT)

  • 2024 CPX: N/A
  • This Week: 5/22 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 5 SB
  • Age: 18
  • ETA: 2028
  • fScores: N/A
  • Prime Skills: Konnor Griffin is a big righty with a good arm as a high school pitcher. He has some massive power upside. The high stance and high and tight hands in his swing remind me of Fernando Tatis Jr., and like Tatis, he will probably have plenty of swing and misses to go with the damage.
  • Player Notes: Griffin is showing the ridiculous stolen base totals in high school might be repeated, at least in the lower Minors.

101. Braylon Payne (OF – MIL)

  • 2024 A: .438/.526/.625 | 15.8 BB%, 15.8 K% | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 4 SB (4 games)
  • This Week: 5/16 (6 BBs) | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 6 SB
  • Age: 18
  • ETA: 2028
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Lawrence Butler
  • Prime Skills: Braylon Payne is a big-bodied outfielder tooled up with a killer power and speed combo from the left side. He’s one of the faster guys picked in the 2024 draft. If he can develop the hit tools and classic Brewers plate skills, the tools can play this kid up with some of the better Brewers prospects.
  • Player Notes: Payne is becoming one of my favorite prospects. The combination of plate skills with electric tools makes me drool over my keyboard.

Notable A Hitters Outside the Top 150

Ramon Ramirez (C – KC)

  • Season: .234/.351/.574 | 15.8 BB%, 22.8 K% | 8 XBH, 4 HR, 2 SB
  • This Week: 9/24 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: If the Cardinals are the kings of prospect catchers, the Royals are right behind them.

Caleb Bonemer (SS – CWS)

  • Season: .311/.421/.511 | 12.3 BB%, 19.3 K% | 6 XBH, 1 HR, 5 SB
  • This Week: 8/19 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  • Notes: Caleb Bonemer was one of the first picks in the second round in 2024, signing for $3 million as a high schooler. He’s shown a nice eye and good doubles power to begin his Minor League career.

Asbel Gonzalez (OF – KC)

  • Season: .400/.500/.400 | 10.4 BB%, 6 K% | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 20 SB
  • This Week: 12/25 (5 BBs) | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 10 SB
  • Notes: Asbel Gonzalez looks like the next Chandler Simpson. How does he have 20 steals already?

Josh Kross (C, 1B – STL)

  • Season: .349/.396/.814 | 4.2 BB%, 10.4 K% | 10 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
  • This Week: 7/19 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
  • Notes: This is Josh Kross’ second week in a row on the list. He is absolutely raking.

Travis Honeyman (OF – STL)

  • Season: .500/.560/.773 | 12 BB%, 8 K% | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • This Week: 9/19 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: Travis Honeyman is way too good for Low-A. As someone who has seen him in person a few times now, it’s not fair for his age to still be there.

Andrew Salas (SS – MIA)

  • Season: .250/.447/.286 | 26.3 BB%, 28.9 K% | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 4 SB
  • This Week: 3/12 (5 BBs) | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: The eye for a kid this young is ridiculously impressive. Andrew Salas is barely 17 years old and is following his brother’s lead.

Engelth Urena (C – NYY)

  • Season: .167/.357/.429 | 19.6 BB%, 23.2 K% | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
  • This Week: 5/20 | 3 XBH, 3 HR, 1 SB
  • Notes: A .148 BABIP is dragging Engelth Urena’s average down to start the season. He is better than that.

Kellon Lindsey (SS – LAD)

  • Season: .279/.396/.395 | 17 BB%, 28.3 K% | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
  • This Week: 7/19 (4 BBs) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
  • Notes: The Dodgers’ 2024 first-rounder is off to a solid start in his debut.

A Pitchers

4. Andrew Painter (SP – PHI)

  • 2022 A/A+/AA: 103 2/3 IP | 32.4 K-BB%, 16.2 SwStr%, 32.3 CSW% | 1.56 ERA, 0.89 WHIP
  • This Week: 3 IP | 4 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: June 2025
  • fScores: 107 fStuff, 111 fControl, 144 fERA
  • Comp: A bigger Jacob deGrom or Tyler Glasnow with more control
  • Prime Skills: Andrew Painter regularly touches 99 MPH on his fastball and throws it up in the zone with some ridiculous ride. He then loves to use his curveball in the zone to finish guys off when they are dead red fastball. He has pinpoint control for a pitcher his age, which plays his stuff up even more. He has an excellent pitch mix and knows how to throw his changeup and breaking stuff off his money fastball.
  • Player Notes: Painter wasn’t incredibly efficient in the first inning I saw him, throwing mostly fastballs, but once he started mixing in other pitches, he took off.

138. Trey Yesavagae (SP – TOR)

  • 2024 College: 93 1/3 IP | 145 Ks, 32 BBs | 2.03 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
  • This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 0 BBs | 5.40 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
  • Age: 21
  • ETA: Late 2025
  • fScores: N/A
  • Comp: Righty Clayton Kershaw-lite
  • Prime Skills: Trey Yesavage is a big righty with a super over-the-top trebuchet-like delivery who throws a solid fastball (93-95 MPH), slider and change-up combo.
  • Player Notes: Yesavage had a nice week, despite giving up some runs.

Notable A Pitchers Outside the Top 150

Griffin Herring (SP – NYY)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 4 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP
  • Notes: Griffin Herring made his first start out of LSU. It was a good one. As a sixth-rounder, he may be one of the A ball pop-up pitchers of 2025 we saw last season (ala Quinn Mathews). This is his second week on this list.

Jason Doktorczyk (SP – MIN)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
  • Notes: The Twins’ ninth-round pick is off to an impressive start to his career out of Nevada, as they continue to develop pitchers.

Sean Linan (SP – LAD)

  • Season: N/A
  • This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 10 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.35 WHIP
  • Notes: Sean Linan showed good stuff last year for the Dodgers and has been untouchable this year, making this list for the third straight week.

Wei-En Lin (SP – ATH)

  • Season: 8 IP | 15 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.13 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
  • This Week: 4 IP | 9 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.00 WHIP
  • Notes: This lefty out of Taiwan has been invincible to start the season and is only 19 years old — rare for an international prospect from the far east. Wei-En Lin made the list last week and is a repeat after pitching four perfect innings this week with nine strikeouts.
