2021 Half PPR Rest of Season Rankings

Christian McCaffrey Note

Back in 2019, McCaffrey was was the overall RB1 in full PPR leagues, outscoring the RB2 by almost nine fantasy points per game. That kind of separation from his peers has CMC once again ranked as the consensus top pick in 2021, despite the fact he's coming off a campaign where he totaled just three games. McCaffrey remains locked into a workhorse role while his surrounding environment has continued to improve each of the past two years. The 1.01 is easy this season. Smash CMC and get ready for the 2/3 turn.

D.J. Moore Note

Moore isn't someone who needs to be shopped when his price is so low, but expectations needs to be tempered for the rest of 2021. The level of quarterback play in Carolina has been abysmal as of late. Over his last five games Sam Darnold has two touchdowns and eight interceptions. Moore's days of WR1 valuation are over.

Cam Newton Note

In his first start of the 2021 season in Week 11, Newton completed 21-of-27 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns. More importantly for fantasy purposes, the former MVP ran 10 times for 46 yards and a score on the ground. The schedule moving forward is favorable for the Panthers. Newton draws the Dolphins in Week 12 and then the Falcons in Week 14.

Chuba Hubbard Note

Hubbard was a workhorse on early downs in Week 4, as expected. Unfortunately, he didn't see Christian McCaffrey's level of usage through the air. This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, but it's a noteworthy data point that caps Hubbard's ceiling. CMC averaged a 22.2% target share in Weeks 1 and 2. In Week 4, Hubbard checked in at 5.1%. Nonetheless, the rookie fourth-rounder will remain a usage-based RB2 in Week 5 against the Eagles.

Robby Anderson Note
Robby Anderson photo 159. Robby Anderson WR - (at TB)
Anderson has seen 20 targets over his past two games but has turned them into just 25 receiving yards. It's an alarming degree of inefficiency, but history suggests that things will soon turn around if the volume holds strong. He isn't a player to get overly excited about, but he also shouldn't be on waivers in deeper formats.

Terrace Marshall Jr. Note

Marshall finished the preseason as Pro Football Focus' No. 1 ranked rookie wideout. He played just 53% of the snaps in Week 1, but he had twice as many targets (6) as Robby Anderson (3). Similar to Rondale Moore, Marshall is a "buy" because his role should grow throughout his first season in the league. Early returns suggest he's deserving of an expanded role.

Sam Darnold Note

Darnold is entering a bit of a make-or-break contest in Week 7 against the Giants. His YPA and designed rushing attempts have been down the past two games, and if things don't change this Sunday then it might be time to move him back down the QB2 ranks.
