DraftKings Projected Roster Percentage: Week 15 (2020)

DraftKings Projected Roster Percentage: Week 15 (2020)

Welcome to Week 15! As we near the end of the regular season, we’re running out of time to build our bankrolls for the playoffs (and next season). If you’ve been turning a profit, congratulations! If not, you still have a few weeks to turn things around, and I wish you luck — studying roster percentages is a good place to start.

Each week, I’ll break down the projected player roster percentages at the top DFS sites. These figures are generated based on numbers pulled from full-slate contests, so they won’t be perfectly accurate, but they give us a good measurement of who’s popular.

Quarterback

Two high-priced studs sit atop the quarterback chart this week, but there isn’t much consensus at the position. Lamar Jackson has been on a roll lately, and he’s got a fantastic matchup against the Jaguars. They give up fourth-most DraftKings points per game (DKPPG) to the position (23.8), and with the Ravens listed as 13-point favorites, your only concern should be whether Baltimore pulls him too early.

Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes has a much worse matchup. He’ll play the Saints, who give up the fourth-fewest DKPPG to the position (16.8), and that’s not one to target. Mahomes just had a bit of a down game against the Dolphins, as he scored 21.6 points and tossed three picks. I would roll with the lower-priced Jackson over him this week.

Of those in the 5-10% range, I like Jared Goff, Tom Brady, Ryan Tannehill, and Jalen Hurts. The first three all have fantastic matchups: the Jets give up the second-most DKPPG, the Falcons give up the most, and the Lions give up ninth-most.

Hurts doesn’t have a great matchup, but he is a rock-solid value play. The Cardinals only give up the 13th-fewest DKPPG to the position, but Hurts and Philadelphia’s new read-option offense could put up a lot of points.

Running Back, Wide Receiver, and Tight End

We don’t have a lot to talk about at the main positions this week. In fact, only four running backs have roster percentages above 10% to make this article, but I’ll tell you the highest-ranking wide receivers and tight ends once we get there.

Derrick Henry is the perfect stud running back to feature in your DFS cash lineups. He’ll play the Lions this week, and they give up the second-most DKPPG to the position (31.7), so it’s not surprising to see the player leading the league in rushing attempts (297), yards (1,532), and touchdowns (14) also leading this list. He’s averaged 29.2 DKPPG over the last two weeks, and he should lead you to some profit this weekend.

Three players qualified for the 10-20% range: Alvin Kamara, Jonathan Taylor, and Leonard Fournette. All are well-situated to post a boatload of fantasy points, although for very different reasons. Kamara is poised to succeed because of the injury to Michael Thomas and Drew Brees‘ return. Taylor happens to have an easy matchup, as the Texans give up the most DKPPG to the position (32.4); he scored 22.5 points against them in Week 13. Lastly, Fournette should get the start if Ronald Jones can’t play, and the starting back is coming off pinkie surgery while on the COVID-19/reserve list.

Some of the most popular plays at wide receiver include high-upside deep threats, like A.J. Brown and T.Y. Hilton, and short-yardage volume plays, like Robert Woods and Lynn Bowden. At tight end, expect Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews to be popular higher-priced picks, while Logan Thomas and Dallas Goedert should be decent value plays.

Defense

Only one defense hit the 5-10% threshold this week: the Los Angeles Rams. They’re the highest-priced unit on the slate, too, which shouldn’t be much of a surprise due to their matchup. The 0-13 New York Jets score the fewest points per game (14.1) by a 4.2-point margin; there’s a larger gap between them and the next-worst Giants than between the Giants and the 24th-worst Washington Football Team. The Rams average the third-most sacks per game (3.2) and the fourth-most takeaways (1.6), so expect them to tee off against Sam Darnold.
