FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 11 (Full Slate)

FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 11 (Full Slate)

Sometimes fantasy matchups really are too good to be true.

I learned that lesson this weekend when stacking Jared Goff, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp against the Seattle Seahawks. Naturally, the Rams rushed for three touchdowns, leaving the passing trio with pedestrian fantasy outputs.

That’s just been the breaks this season. But there’s still plenty of weeks left to cash in. Here’s my FanDuel lineup for Week 12, and I promise we won’t stack any more Rams.

Quarterback

Russell Wilson (SEA): $8,800
I have a feeling that Wilson’s rostership will be lower than normal this week, and that’s part of the reason why I’m going with him. First off,  there will be plenty of players avoiding Wilson with last week’s abysmal performance against the Rams fresh in their minds. News flash: Wilson was playing at an unsustainable rate and was due for a clunker.

The other reason Wilson’s rostership could be down is that there are a lot of exciting options at quarterback: Patrick Mahomes against Vegas, Kyler Murray against Seattle, Justin Herbert against the Jets, Lamar Jackson against Tennessee, and Ben Roethlisberger against Jacksonville.

Wilson will bounce back. He put up 32.92 points in Seattle’s loss to Arizona last month, and that was with three interceptions. Expect the best of Russell Wilson coming off a string of losses and in a revenge spot that will help determine the NFC West.

Running Backs

Josh Jacobs (LV): $7,500
Jacobs heads my Week 11 backfield. He’ll get a Chiefs defense that struggles to stop the run. Kansas City’s rush defense ranks 30th in DVOA (Defensive-adjusted Value Over Average) and is giving up 4.8 yards per attempt this season. Jacobs rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns in the first meeting between these teams, and he should provide a strong floor at worst in the rematch.

Mike Davis (CAR): $7,400
It looks like Christian McCaffrey won’t play in Week 11. That’s great news for Davis, who’s a tremendous value against Detroit. The Lions rank 27th in DVOA rush defense and have given up a whopping 16 touchdowns to opposing backs. With Teddy Bridgewater’s status up in the air, Davis should make the most of what should be a higher volume of touches.

Wide Receivers

Keenan Allen (LAC): $8,000
Justin Herbert loves to spread the ball around. Fortunately, Allen remains the clear focal point of the Chargers’ passing game. His high target volume always gives him a high floor, but Allen is an upside play this week against a woeful Jets secondary.

New York ranks dead last in DVOA in passing defense and surrenders 7.7 net yards per attempt. The Jets just cut cornerback Pierre Desir and put slot cornerback Brian Poole on injured reserve. That spells doom against Allen, who should feast in the slot.

Expect Herbert and the Chargers to take out their frustrations on the poor Jets.

Terry McLaurin (WAS): $7,300
McLaurin is on a roll as of late. He’s caught at least seven passes and has racked up at least 90 yards in his last three games. The switch to Alex Smith at quarterback didn’t hurt him either. Even more exciting is that McLaurin gets a matchup with the Bengals, who can’t cover anyone.

Cincinnati is allowing 7.1 net yards per attempt, and they have given up 21 passing touchdowns, the second-most in the league. McLaurin should keep the momentum going and will hopefully crack the end zone Sunday.

David Moore (SEA): $5,400
As you’ll see later in the piece, the budget gets tight toward the end. I’m taking a cheap flier on Moore, who caught three balls for 54 yards in Seattle’s first meeting with Arizona. I’m hoping the Cardinals find a solution for stopping Tyler Lockett this time around, while Patrick Peterson keeps the clamps on D.K. Metcalf. If Moore can steal a touchdown, it’d be a huge win.

Tight End

Hayden Hurst (ATL): $5,500
Hurst has caught at least five passes and racked up at least 54 yards in his last three contests. What’s missing is an end-zone trip, but that could change against a Saints defense that’s given up six touchdowns to opposing tight ends.

FLEX

Damien Harris (NE): $5,800
Everyone, do me a favor and pray that Sony Michel does not return from injury this week. Even if you aren’t religious, just speak it into existence. Harris has a good thing going here, and we don’t need Michel’s return ruining it.

In his last three games, Harris has rushed for 294 yards on 52 carries. I loved the way New England’s offensive line man-handled Baltimore’s front seven last weekend, and I think the Patriots presented us with their recipe for success going forward.

The Pats now face a Texans defense that ranks dead last in rush defense DVOA and is allowing 167.4 rushing yards per game. Sure, Rex Burkhead and James White will be worked in. But if Harris can just get the lion’s share of the touches, he should be in store for an excellent game.

So please, Sony Michel, wait another week.

Defense / Special Teams

Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($4,100)
After stacking Jared Goff and the Rams passing game last week, I’m fading them completely this week. L.A.’s shaky offensive line got a lot worse with Andrew Whitworth’s injury. And we all know that Goff is one of the worst quarterbacks in the league under pressure. That’s frightening news against Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, who blitzes on 42% of plays.

Expect Bowles and the Buccaneers’ front seven to wreak havoc against a Rams offensive line that’s without its anchor. And expect plenty of mistakes from Goff.
