2020 Rest of Season Rankings

George Kittle Note

Kittle banged up his knee in Week 1 and is out for Week 2. The good news is that the injury doesn't sound serious, and Kittle should be back in short order. For the short term, those managers rostering Kittle need a replacement, but think about upcoming matchups for the next week or two only, rather than a season-long outlook.

Tevin Coleman Note

Coleman had several excellent games, but was all but irrelevant late in the year when Raheem Mostert took over as the primary back. Mostert will almost certainly lead the way in 2020, but given the turnover in 2019, Coleman could get his shot again at some point. If he does receive the lion's share of the carries in San Francisco, it's a perfect situation, as the 49ers ran the ball 51% of the time last year, second most in the league. Heading into 2020 drafts, however, Coleman is nothing more than a high-end handcuff for your bench.

Deebo Samuel Note

Samuel was placed on IR, which means he'll miss at least three games. It's likely the right move, as Jones fractures are notoriously unpredictable, so it's better to be safe than sorry. Monitor his progress but obviously, fantasy managers will need to prepare to find other options until at least Week 4.

Jerick McKinnon Note

McKinnon has yet to play a snap for the 49ers after signing with them prior to the 2018 season. He'll be back with the team this year in another attempted comeback, but it's a crowded backfield. With Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman leading the way, McKinnon is more likely going to be a change-of-pace back and receiving option if he can stay healthy, but his looks should be few and far between. That's not a player worth drafting in almost any format.
