Fantasy Football Player Notes

2020 Rest of Season Rankings
Tyreek Hill Note
Tyreek Hill photo 12. Tyreek Hill WR - (vs . LAC)
Hill doesn't get the targets that some of the other top receivers do - he has seen exactly six targets in four of his five games - and he has yet to top 100 yards receiving. But he's scored in every game this season and is a threat to reach the end zone anytime he touches the ball. He's a top-three options most week and going forward.

Travis Kelce Note
Travis Kelce photo 16. Travis Kelce TE - (vs . LAC)
Kelce caught all six of his targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in the opener against the Texans. He's a dominant force at the position and at worst the second option at tight end. Absent injury, it should be another fantastic season for Kelce and pretty much every part of the Chiefs offense.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Note
Clyde Edwards-Helaire photo 25. Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB - (vs . LAC)
Edwards-Helaire has had a fine season, although perhaps not the dominant one fantasy owners foresaw after Week 1. But now, with the Chiefs signing Le'Veon Bell, Edward-Helaire's value takes an immediate hit. He'll still get plenty of carries and be the back to roster in Kansas City, but he's no longer an RB1. Consider him a strong RB2 for now until we know exactly how the backfield will break down.

Patrick Mahomes II Note
Patrick Mahomes II photo 41. Patrick Mahomes II QB - (vs . LAC)
Mahomes looked like his typical dominant self in the opener against the Texans, throwing three touchdown passes and making plenty of incredible throws from off-balanced positions. If there's a negative to be drawn, it's how much the Chiefs relied on the run and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, which could take away some upside. But don't kid yourself, Mahomes is obviously a top-two option at the position.

Le'Veon Bell Note
Le'Veon Bell photo 57. Le'Veon Bell RB - (vs . LAC)
Everyone is flocking to Bell now that he's with the high-scoring Cheifs offense, but this could be your opportunity to cash in and sell high. The Chiefs offensive line hasn't been good this year, as Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been a top-10 running back in terms of broken tackles, yet still hasn't lived up to expectations. Bell is not one for breaking many tackles, especially this late in his career. He will likely steal some of the passing-down work and get some carries, but it's hard seeing him have more value than Edwards-Helaire. Is there an opportunity? Sure, but the way everyone's talking about Bell, they think it's a guarantee. Use Bell's name value to move him.

Mecole Hardman Note
Mecole Hardman photo 124. Mecole Hardman WR - (vs . LAC)
Hardman played just 30% of he snaps in Week 1, and is essentially in a rotation with Demarcus Robinson for the third receiver spot with the Chiefs. He'll need an injury to someone in front of him to be fantasy viable.

Sammy Watkins Note
Sammy Watkins photo 149. Sammy Watkins WR - (vs . LAC)
Another Week 1, another big Watkins performance. He saw nine targets and had seven catches for 82 yards and a touchdown, and looked to be the clear number two wide receiver in a dynamic Chiefs offense. We've seen Watkins fool us early before, but to the extent he's on your waiver-wire, he should be added immediately.

Harrison Butker Note
Harrison Butker photo 176. Harrison Butker K - (vs . LAC)
Butker led the NFL in field-goal attempts and conversions last year, and the Chiefs are nearly always among the league leaders in field-goal attempts. Wait on kicker, obviously, but Butker will be one of the best yet again.

Kansas City Chiefs Note

Darrel Williams Note
Darrel Williams photo 217. Darrel Williams RB - (vs . LAC)
Williams got off to a lackluster start against the Texans in Week 1, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire looked incredible handling a massive workload. Williams is simply a handcuff, albeit one who would have a ton of value in a high-end offense should anything happen to Edwards-Helaire.

Demarcus Robinson Note
Demarcus Robinson photo 242. Demarcus Robinson WR - (vs . LAC)
Robinson could have had two touchdowns in the opener against the Texans, but was instead limited to just three catches and 20 yards. He's in a rotation with Mecole Hardman as the third wide receiver and doesn't need to be rostered anywhere.

Darwin Thompson Note
Darwin Thompson photo 275. Darwin Thompson RB - (vs . LAC)
Thompson has talent and plays in an outstanding system for running backs, but there's almost no chance he'll have fantasy value this year. Clyde Edwards-Helaire will lead the way in the Kansas City backfield, and DeAndre Washington and Darrel Williams will also compete for touches. Thompson would have potential if he ever saw enough of an opportunity, but there's little chance of that happening in 2020.
