Fantasy Football Player Notes

2019 Rest of Season Rankings
Keenan Allen Note

After a hot start, Allen has fallen off dramatically, though he has seen double digit targets in each of the last two games (Weeks 7 and 8). The Chargers offense, playing with a decimated offensive line, simply looks out of sync, and Allen himself isn't blameless. In the end, given his pedigree and the consistency of the targets, he still makes no worse than a solid WR2 in half- and full-PPR leagues.

Austin Ekeler Note

Ekeler has still been useful despite Melvin Gordon coming back, though much of his value has come from his involvement in the passing game. No longer the RB1 he appeared to be at the start of the season, he still carries plenty of value in half- and full-PPR leagues as a reliable starting option.

Hunter Henry Note

Henry has immediately vaulted into the discussion of top-five tight ends in fantasy football, as he's seen both the targets and the yardage to make him one of the rare, truly reliable players at the position. The Chargers may struggle on offense, but Henry should continue to get his going forward.

Mike Williams Note
Mike Williams photo 71. Mike Williams WR - (at KC)
Williams was insanely efficient despite being the 4th target. With Tyrell Williams gone and the threat of Melvin Gordon holding out, Williams could surge forward, perhaps all the way into WR1 territory. There is some risk here, but the upside is spectacular.

Justin Jackson Note
Justin Jackson photo 254. Justin Jackson RB - (at KC)
Jackson has run well in the first three games, but has been overshadowed by Austin Ekeler's dominance, particularly in the passing game. With Melvin Godon returning, Jackson's minimal value should nearly evaporate by Week 6. But for Week 4 against the Dolphins, when Gordon will be out, and Week 5 against the Broncos, when Gordon's role may be minimal, Jackson is someone who fantasy owners can likely play in a pinch.
