Fantasy Football Player Notes

2020 Rest of Season Rankings
Joe Mixon Note
Joe Mixon photo 14. Joe Mixon RB - (vs . BAL)
Mixon was a major disappointment for the first few weeks of the season, before he exploded in Week 4 against the Jaguars. The offensive line for Cincinnati is poor, but so long as the Bengals commit to getting Mixon the ball anywhere close to the level they did in Week 4, he should return RB1 value for the remainder of the season.

Tyler Boyd Note

He took a backseat to A.J. Green and Tee Higgins last week, which is fine, as it allows you an opportunity to slide in and buy Boyd at WR3 (and maybe even cheaper) prices. Looking ahead at his schedule, he'll play the Browns and Titans before his bye in Week 9, which are both plus matchups. Looking ahead even further, he'll play the Cowboys, Steelers (weakest in the slot), and Texans in the fantasy playoffs. He's a borderline top-20 receiver for the rest of the season.

Joe Burrow Note
Joe Burrow photo 121. Joe Burrow QB - (vs . BAL)
Burrow is in a great situation for fantasy. He's willing to air it out to his talented receivers, he adds in a floor with his rushing ability, and he'll play from behind because of his team's poor defense.

Giovani Bernard Note
Giovani Bernard photo 196. Giovani Bernard RB - (vs . BAL)
Had Bernard not missed six games in 2016 that artificially kept his numbers down, he'd be coming off three straight years of declining touches. As it is, he's been nothing more than a change-of-pace back for the last two seasons, who occasionally factors into the passing game but rarely does anything noteworthy. Even with an injury to Joe Mixon, it's doubtful that Bernard would carry the load himself given his age and size, so he's best ignored in fantasy circles.

Drew Sample Note
Drew Sample photo 283. Drew Sample TE - (vs . BAL)
Joe Burrow has heavily targeted the tight end position early in his young career, and with C.J. Uzomah lost for the season, Sample should have a fairly big role. He saw nine targets in Week 2 against the Browns, and although he's unlikely to come close to that number again (unless Burrow again makes 61 pass attempts), he should be a streamable option in the right matchup.
