2019 Rest of Season Rankings
Alvin Kamara Note
Alvin Kamara photo 5. Alvin Kamara RB - (at CAR)
Kamara looks likely to return in Week 10 after the Saints' bye. He should be fully recovered from his various injuries and take over the lead duty role for the team once again. Latavius Murray was effective in Kamara's stead, and may earn a bigger piece of the running back pie going forward. But Kamara should still be a top-five back, particular in half- and full-PPR formats going forward.

Michael Thomas Note
Michael Thomas photo 8. Michael Thomas WR - (at CAR)
No one was more efficient with the targets they saw than Thomas last season. In fact, no one in NFL history has been that efficient. There is room for more, of course, if New Orleans decides to pepper him with targets, but they also don't throw much so that might just be wishful thinking.

Latavius Murray Note

Murray filled in brilliantly for the injured Alvin Kamara in Weeks 7 and 8, but Kamara should return after the bye in Week 10. Chances are, Murray's performance has earned him a larger role than he saw earlier in the season, and he should settle into the Mark Ingram complement to Kamara. That's a running back who you can start most weeks.

Emmanuel Sanders Note
Emmanuel Sanders photo 74. Emmanuel Sanders WR - (at CAR)
Sanders has been traded to the 49ers, and immediately becomes the top receiving option on the team. The 49ers have attempted the second-fewest passes in the league, and it will likely take time for Sanders to learn the offense. Still, given his talent and the upgrade in offenses from the Broncos to the 49ers, the move only helps Sanders' value.

Jameis Winston Note
Jameis Winston photo 78. Jameis Winston QB - (at CAR)
Winston showed some improvement against the Panthers, but he has thrown just two touchdown passes in the first two games. He has the potential to uncork some perfect throws, but he seems far from putting it all together. Consider him only a borderline starter in deeper leagues for now, one who you shouldn't feel compelled to start going forward.

Drew Brees Note
Drew Brees photo 80. Drew Brees QB - (at CAR)
Brees returned against the Cardinals and looked healthy, throwing for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns. Five of his remaining seven games are indoors, and although he's no longer quite the elite fantasy quarterback he was in his hey-day, he's a must-start option going forward.

Jared Cook Note
Jared Cook photo 105. Jared Cook TE - (at CAR)
We knew Drew Brees' offense is fantasy gold for tight ends, but Brees is now hurt and we saw Cook with Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers in 2016. He did nothing, so perhaps even Brees' return won't lock him into the fantasy top 12. Additionally, Cook was TE15 in 2017 before his big 2018 season which was fueled by the fact that Jordy Nelson was their #1 receiver. In New Orleans, he will be the #3 or #4 option at best so perhaps we should be careful with our expectations.

Tre'Quan Smith Note

Ted Ginn may still be in the way, but if Tre'Quan surpasses him, the number two receiver in New Orleans would certainly return more value than the occasional strong performance mixed into a lot of duds like Smith gave us last year.

Ty Montgomery Note
Ty Montgomery photo 256. Ty Montgomery RB - (at CAR)
Le'Veon Bell hasn't exactly been the most durable starting running back and while it is rumored that the Jets are looking for additional help at the position, it is Montgomery now who is the clear backup if anything were to happen, and believe it or not, he has looked terrific this preseason.
