Daily Pitcher Overview 7/24 (Start/Sit, Streamers, DFS)

Today, we get just 13 games, but we are gifted with two perfect streamers, a few solid GPP plays and two aces to choose from. I’ll also give you all of my start/sit recommendations so let’s take a look.

Top Streamer

Hyun-Jin Ryu (LAD vs MIN)

Here we have one of the best streamers of the month at just 4% ownership, and Blake Snell at 5% is right behind him as another killer option. Ryu hasn’t been pitching many innings and is just coming off a DL stint, but he has over 9 K/9, should pick up the win and likely won’t damage your ratios this evening. What else is there to ask for from a streamer?

Top DFS Cash Game Option

Zack Greinke (ARI vs ATL)

I can’t for the life of me figure out why Greinke, who averages more FanDuel points per game this season and has better stuff, is more than $1,000 cheaper than Jacob deGrom. I was fully prepared to write in deGrom here thanks to his matchup in San Diego, but the price point changes the whole ball game. Greinke is actually more of a Vegas favorite tonight so he is probably safer anyways, even without the strikeout upside since he goes against a halfway competent offense.

Top DFS Tournament Option

Vincent Velasquez (PHI vs HOU)

While both Hyun-Jin Ryu and Blake Snell both have similar price points, better k-rates and a high chance of winning than Velasquez, neither Ryu or Snell have been pitching 6 innings often enough to give them much of a ceiling. The best case scenario for either is likely 5.2 IP, 0 ER, 8 K and a win. That is a nice 45 point performance and there is a better chance of it happening than Velasquez ceiling, but we are talking about 7 IP, 10K, a win and QS. If he pulls off that 60 point night at 4% ownership then you are in the driver’s seat for mega bucks.

Start/Sit Table

Guide

*All stats based on our daily projections
OWN – ownership % between ESPN and Yahoo!
Score – Based on an algorithm that weighs if their ratios are too high to offset the odds of them getting a win and add strikeouts to your team totals
Recommendation – For Roto and H2H season-long leagues
DFS Cash – Not based on value, but performance only. Heavily favors ratios and odds at getting the win and quality start
DFS GPP – Not based on value, but performance only. Built to focus more on strikeout potential and stamina
*The table is sorted by their season-long fantasy appeal

Thanks for reading and good luck today!
