Notes
Look, we get it. No one really wants to draft a catcher. And for those of you in two-catcher leagues (first off, stop), no one wants to draft two catchers. But if you decide that you want to have an advantage at the position, it makes sense to take J.T. Realmuto here because of the overall production he'll bring and the added volume of games he'll play in his second season in Philadelphia. If there are no other players you like on the board and you feel like you can get adequate value at the other positions later, go ahead and click the draft button.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
If we are looking at real baseball, Matt Chapman is one of the 10 best players in the league. If we are looking at fantasy with OBP, Chapman gets a boost in value. Neither of those are the case here, as Chapman's average keeps him out of the elite options at third base. What he'll give you is solid production, and if he takes the next step in batting average, he's top 5 at the position. As of now, though, at a deep position, he's a top 12 guy who gives you what a lot of players give you."
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Realmuto didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations last year but still managed to finish as the top catcher in fantasy baseball. He is a near-lock to again lead the position in steals and runs while providing 20+ homers, 75+ RBI and a solid batting average. His ceiling might not be as high as Gary Sanchez, but you know you are drafting a sure-fire top 100 player with Realmuto.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
If fantasy were real life, Chapman might be the second best third basemen in the league but fantasy accounts for average instead of OBP and his 1 steal won't help much. Rather, he is big power guy with runs, homers and not much else to help your fantasy team.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
