Turner has played more than 130 games just once in his eight-year career, but he's been consistently excellent when he's on the field. If you pro-rate his stats over a full season, you are typically looking at 25 home runs and 90 RBIs. Most importantly, with a batting average of at least .312 in three of the last five seasons, Turner is on the very short list of players who are capable of winning the batting title. His value gets a big boost in leagues with daily lineups and/or multiple DL spots -- he is highly underrated in those formats.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
There is plenty of reason to be excited about David Dahl, as his upside is a true five-category contributor. With that said, he has been among the most injury-prone players in baseball so even 400 plate appearances is no guarantee.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
An underrated stud when healthy, Turner has touted a higher wRC+ (141) than Paul Goldschmidt, Giancarlo Stanton, Nolan Arenado, and Manny Machado in the past three seasons. He has hit .300/.383/.512 over that time frame, but the games played (150, 130, 103) keeps trending downward. A mere return to 130 would make him a steal beyond the top-100 picks, especially in a shallower league where investors have an easier time filling in the injury gaps on the waiver wire.
Andrew Gould - FantasyPros
Dahl displayed an enticing combination of power, speed, and batting average in the minor leagues, but he has found it hard to nail down regular playing time in Colorado over the last couple seasons. Thankfully, that will no longer be an issue in 2019, as he's slated to be the Rockies' everyday left fielder. Dahl will need to keep his strikeout rate in check if he wants to be a true asset in batting average, but he should be able to contribute 25+ HRs and 10+ SBs this season while calling Coors Field home. There's always a little bit of risk when investing an early pick in a player who has never played a full Major League season, but Dahl's upside outweighs the risk once you get outside of the first five or six rounds of fantasy drafts.
Andrew Seifter - FantasyPros
Batting average is difficult to come by after the first four or five rounds, but then there is Turner, who over the last five seasons, has racked up a .305 batting average which beats out plays like Trout, Yelich and Freeman. There isn't a ton in the way of homers or steals, but he won't hurt you in any category unless he deals with yet another injury. For that reason, he is a bit risky.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
*In best Jerry Seinfeld voice* What's the Dahl with David's rising ADP? He's a top-100 choice in most spots after popping nine homers in September. Although he could easily offer 25 homers and 15 steals with a Coors-inflated batting average, investors must be willing to absorb some additional matchup homework. He recorded a .378 wOBA against righties and a .296 wOBA versus lefties, and even those steep splits are nothing compared to his .435 wOBA at home compared to a .254 wOBA on the road. This could make him trickier to own in leagues with weekly lineups.
