Notes
Potential verse reliability is the question here. Acuna and Trout are likely to have comparable home run totals while Acuna should steal more bases. We know what we're getting from Trout and with Rendon in the lineup, maybe 2020 is a career year. It wouldn't surprise me to see Acuna have the better statistical 2020, but Trout's reliability gets my pick at #1.1.
Chris Mitchell - FantasyData
The Dodgers are going to be a headache for fantasy managers this year, but Bellinger is one of the players who you can count on for everyday, elite production. Having first base eligibility lifts his stock even more, since first base is a top-heavy position this year. Bellinger lowered his strikeout rate and raised his walk rate, but the most impressive part of his growth last season was his ability to hit lefties to the tune of .280 - up from .226 the year prior.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Having Trout third feels weird, but there are concerns with his wife's due date in August for how much time Trout will miss. Even, on the low end, 45 games of Trout is better than the vast majority of the league. He could miss more time than anticipated, or not miss much at all. It's worth baking in the risk here, but moving him lower than third overall as the safest player to return value in the first round, is a mistake.
Michael Waterloo - FantasyPros
Bellinger had a tremendous season, drastically improving his walk rate and cutting his strikeout rate, and setting career highs in each of the five standard rotisserie categories. If there's a knock on Bellinger's season, it's that so much of his production came in the first half, and particularly in March where he batted .431 with 14 home runs. Beginning in June, he batted .280 or lower in each month, and he batted just .261 in the second half. But the numbers all count, and although it's reasonable to expect Bellinger to take a slight step back from his overall 2019 numbers, it still leaves him as a top-five pick.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
Trout may not be the clear-cut number one player in fantasy this year, but that's of no fault of his own, as he's coming off one of his best seasons ever, with a career-high 45 home runs in just 134 games. If you were desperate to find a knock on Trout, it's that he hasn't topped 140 games in any of his last three seasons, and his 11 stolen bases last year tied his low in a single season. But that's all window dressing on a truly special player who is obviously a top-three pick at worst.
Dan Harris - FantasyPros
After his ridiculous start in April, Bellinger cooled off for sure, but still played at a 43 HR, 102 RBI, 116 R, 13 SB, .274 pace. He doesn't come with the risk some are suggesting as let's remember, he was still just 23 years old in his down season of 2018. You can draft him in the top-five with confidence but behind Trout, Acuna and Betts.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
Although Mike Trout has missed some time, they've mostly been flukey injuries. Had he stayed healthy, we may have been talking about 55 homers with 15 steals and a .300 average. His consistency alone makes him the number one overall pick just ahead of Acuna.
Bobby Sylvester - FantasyPros
I project regression across the board. 30-35 HRs, 8-13 SBs in 2020 rather than his 47/15 2019. Still a really strong season, still qualifies in the outfield and a slightly better Dodger than Betts with upside to provide 40/15 if his regression is less severe than my projections. Thats why he ranks ahead of Betts but behind the dual-threat middle infielders at picks 4-6.
Chris Mitchell - FantasyData
It would be nice if he stole 20 bases again but I mean...it's Mike Trout
Brendan Tuma - BettingPros
Statcast page is blood red (which is good). Hit .379 in the first two months of 2019, .262 after
