According to Boston manager Alex Cora, Mookie Betts will not start game three of the World Series at second base as the series shifts to Los Angeles. (source)

Fantasy Impact:

There had been murmurs leading up to the World Series that Betts may be forced to play the infield position so that Cora would be able to keep his slugger J.D. Martinez in the starting lineup. Cora put to bed this rumor, for game three at least, but also left open the possibility that Betts could play the position at a later point in the game or series. As is, it seems near impossible that Cora could consider not starting Martinez at this point with how hot he has been at the plate all year. It is quite possible Jackie Bradley Jr. is the odd man out here and that we will either see Mookie or (more likely) Andrew Benintendi shift to center field to accommodate Martinez in one of the corner outfield spots on Friday. Stay tuned.
