Jeff Samardzija (7-8) allowed four runs on six hits while striking out seven in five innings in Saturday's 11-4 loss to the Mets. He took his eighth loss of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Samardzija didn't walk anyone and had pitched well in his previous three starts. He was hurt by the long ball as he gave up a pair of homers to Dominic Smith and Jeff McNeil. Samardzija now owns a 4.09 ERA and 96/29 K/BB ratio in his 20 starts this season. His next scheduled start is Wednesday, away against the Phillies.
