Gerrit Cole strikes out 12 in win Thursday

Cole (15-5) allowed two hits and one walk while striking out 12 through seven scoreless innings in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Tigers. He picked up his 15th win of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite missing more than two weeks with hamstring soreness, Cole was dominant in Thursday's win. He matched a franchise record of 14 games in one season with 10 strikeouts or more. Cole is a fantasy ace and is second in the majors in strikeouts, one behind teammate Justin Verlander. He owns a 2.75 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 238:40 K:BB through 163 2/3 innings this season. His next scheduled start is Wednesday, home against the Rays.
