Kevin Gausman takes tough luck loss on Saturday

by Jon Mathisen | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sun, Sep 20th 1:07pm EDT

Kevin Gausman took his third loss of the season on Saturday when he gave up one run on one hit with six strikeouts and three walks over six innings in the Giants 6-0 loss to the A's.

Fantasy Impact:

Gausman missed his previous start with elbow tightness but looked no worse for the wear against the plucky A's as he picked up his third quality start of the season. The only hit he gave up was a Matt Olson RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, which would prove to be the "game-winner" as the Giants mustered just six hits and were shut out. Gausman has been a solid performer in San Francisco this year, putting up a 3.76 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 68:15 K/BB ratio over 52 2/3 innings (nine starts). The right-hander takes on the Rockies at home in his next and final turn of the 2020 regular season.
