Dylan Carlson falls homer shy of the cycle in Cardinals win Tuesday

by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Cardinals Correspondent | Wed, Sep 23rd 1:32am EDT

Dylan Carlson went 3-4 with one single, one double, one triple, two runs scored and two RBI as the Cardinals beat the Royals 5-0 on Tuesday. Carlson, hitting out of the eight hole, gave Royals starter Brady Singer fits tagging him for both a double and triple. He got the scoring started with a two RBI double in the second inning and the Cardinals never looked back. They are 27-25 on the season and control Second Place in the NL Central.

Fantasy Impact:

Carlson is slashing .196/.235/.337 over 92 at-bats this season. Since being recalled on September 18th he is batting .316 with three extra base hits in 19 at-bats. He may be getting hot at just the right time for the Cardinals who are fighting for their playoff lives this week. Owners in standard 12-team redraft leagues can add Carlson to their watch lists and see if he continues his hot streak.
