Charlie Morton tosses 5 1/3 innings Saturday

by Steve Painter | Braves Correspondent | Sun, May 2nd 12:25am EDT

Charlie Morton pitched 5 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays Saturday, allowing five hits, four runs (all earned), and two walks while striking out six batters. It was a no-decision for him. He threw 98 pitches, 60 for strikes.

Fantasy Impact:

If Morton is unable to get on track the Braves will be in serious trouble this year. They can replace the woeful Drew Smyly but they have nobody to take Morton's place so it's imperative that Morton starts producing good pitching but that doesn't appear to be happening. He's terribly inefficient and can't seem to miss many bats or throw strikes after going through the opposing batting order once. Yikes. He carries a 5.08 ERA into the next start.
