Jake McGee earns another save on Tuesday

by Jon Mathisen | Wed, May 12th 2:28am EDT

LHP Jake McGee picked up the save on Tuesday when he worked a scoreless ninth inning, striking out one, in a 4-2 win over the Rangers.

Fantasy Impact:

McGee was called upon for the second night in a row to protect a two-run lead vs. the Rangers. He got the job done once again by not allowing a baserunner while striking out the red hot Adolis Garcia to end the contest. Manager Gabe Kapler seems determined to use McGee in the ninth inning until he's no longer capable of closing out games. The 34-year-old southpaw now owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 23:4 K/BB ratio over 16 innings. He's 10-for-11 on save chances as well.
