Alex Reyes strikes out the side for 11th save

by Lucas Spence | Thu, May 13th 11:16pm EDT

Alex Reyes pitched around a walk and a single to strike out the side while picking up his 11th save of the season on Thursday afternoon.

Fantasy Impact:

Reyes issued a leadoff walk (on a questionable ball four call) and then struck out Omar Narvaez and Jackie Bradley, Jr. He then gave up a base hit to Luis Urias before striking out Tyrone Taylor to end the game. An absolute steal in fantasy baseball drafts (or waiver wire pick-up early in the season), Reyes is now a perfect 11-for-11 in save opportunities to go with a 2-0 record, 0.45 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP on the season for the Cardinals. Walks have been a persistent issue that he needs to correct, but otherwise the 26-year-old former top pitching prospect has been absolutely dominant as the St. Louis closer.
