Kevin Gausman allow season-high six runs on Saturday

by Jon Mathisen | Blue Jays Correspondent | Sun, Jul 25th 11:40am EDT

RHP Kevin Gausman took the loss on Sunday when he surrendered six runs on eight hits with four walks and two strikeouts over 4 1/3 innings in the Giants' 10-2 loss to the Pirates.

Fantasy Impact:

This was a rough start for Gausman, who's now given up nine earned runs over his first two starts since the All-Star break. He surrendered three runs over the first three innings and three more, including a Gregory Polanco home run and Kevin Newman two-run single, in the fifth. The six earned runs were a season-worst and the four free passes matched another low. The hard-throwing right-hander has not looked good since the All-Star break but he still holds a solid 9-4 record, 2.21 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 140:37 K/BB ratio over 122 innings. He'll aim to bounce back against the Dodgers at home in his next turn.
