Kris Bubic strikes out four in no decision Saturday

by Luke Monaldo | Royals Correspondent | Sun, Jul 3rd 8:58am EDT

Kris Bubic pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs in five hits and three walks while striking out four in Kansas City’s 4-3 loss in Detroit on Saturday.

Fantasy Impact:

Bubic did not factor in the decision on Saturday but set Kansas City up to win as best as he could in such a short outing. Despite failing to make it out of the 5th inning, Bubic left with the Royals leading. Bubic carries a 7.06 ERA and 1.87 WHIP across 12 appearances (11 starts) this season and that matched with his 1-5 record and just 37 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings makes him unstartable right now and irrelevant for fantasy purposes. It’s been a long season for Bubic that started with his ERA being 67.50 after his first start of the year and has him here near this halfway mark. Things don’t get any easier for Bubic in his next start Thursday in Houston against the AL West-leading Astros.
