Jose Berrios sharp in quality start on Wednesday

by Devon Bruce | Blue Jays Correspondent | Wed, Jul 6th 7:30pm EDT

Jose Berrios pitched six innings, allowing an earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out six during Toronto's win over Oakland on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Berrios seems to have adjusted and turned a corner recently, allowing three runs over his last two starts after getting shelled in his prior two starts. He shut down the A's over five innings before allowing a solo home run to Ramon Laureano in the bottom of the sixth. He only had eight swinging strikes but did strike out six while producing a solid 32 percent CSW. Hopefully this is the start of a positive streak for the righty, as fantasy owners have weathered some rough times with Berrios of late. On the season he is 6-4 with an improving 5.44 ERA and 1.39 WHIP while striking out 73 over 17 starts. He'll next take the mound in a matchup against the Phillies on Tuesday.
