James Shields has disastrous outing against the Mariners

James Shields allowed 10 runs over 2 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the Mariners. He gave up eight hits and four walks, striking out one. Shields' ERA rose from 3.06 to 4.28 with the outing.
Fantasy Impact:
You don't see too many 10-run outings from a starting pitcher these days, and certainly not from those of James Shields' caliber. Although Shields was pitching against an AL team, Safeco Field isn't exactly a hitter's haven. While his numbers look drastically different than they did prior to Tuesday's start, fantasy owners should value Shields the same as they did prior to the outing - a low-level starter who won't help you in many categories but who can be used at home in a decent matchup. That probably includes his next start at home against the Rockies.
