Yankees starter Luis Severino was spotted playing catch in the outfield on Saturday morning. The right-hander made a rehab start in High-A Hudson Valley last weekend after recovering from an elbow injury and touched 99 mph with his fastball. However, after just 1.2 innings, he was forced to exit with a new injury: a Grade 2 right groin strain.

To the extent Bass was the official "closer" in Miami, he isn't any longer after struggling in his first few outings. He doesn't really have "closer stuff" to begin with despite successfully holding the ninth-inning role at times,, so he'll likely only find his way back to being the stopper if there are prolonged struggles by Yimi Garcia and others.
