Tonight’s pitching selection has an unorthodox vibe. Boxing fans will catch my drift when they see the handedness of the trio of hurlers touted for GPPs tonight. They’re joined by a power-packed group of affordable hitters. There are no teammates in the hitting section, thus, there’s not a specific stack I’d advocate going out of your way to load up on tonight.

James Paxton (NYY): $9,600 at Giants
Paxton’s easily my top pitching selection tonight. Max Scherzer is positioned nicely too, but the $800 salary relief provided by Paxton tilts the scales in the southpaw’s favor. Paxton’s made five starts spanning 29.0 innings, and his 3.10 ERA is actually high relative to his ERA estimators. His 36.8% K% is second highest among tonight’s hurlers and among qualified pitchers as well, per FanGraphs.
He’ll toe the rubber at Oracle Park tonight, which is a boon to his value for two reasons. First, it’s a National League park, meaning he’ll be facing the opposing pitcher instead of a designated hitter. Second, Oracle Park has the 11th-lowest park factor for runs (0.956) and lowest for homers (0.688).
