Fantasy Football Injury Updates
Kenny Pickett throws TD, leaves with concussion
Kenny Pickett completed 11 of his 18 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown while adding 16 yards on two carries in a 20-18 win over the Buccaneers in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Pickett took a big hit in the second half and was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a concussion. Before he departed, he found Najee Harris for a six-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. Pickett will have to pass through the league’s concussion protocol in order to suit up against the Dolphins in Week 7. If he can’t go, Mitch Trubisky would draw the start.
J.K. Dobbins sits second half with knee tightness
J.K. Dobbins carried the ball seven times for 15 yards in a 24-20 loss to the Giants in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Dobbins was bottled up and, even worse, he wound up sitting out the entire second half after his surgically-repaired knee tightened up on him. The third-year running back’s status will require monitoring heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Browns. Dobbins has 35 carries for 123 yards in four games in 2022.
Saquon Barkley plays through shoulder injury
Saquon Barkley tallied 83 rushing yards and one touchdown on 22 attempts Sunday. He also caught all three of his targets for 12 yards in a win over the Ravens.
Fantasy Impact
Barkley played with a shoulder injury that appeared to flare up a few times during the game. The 25-year-old running back has scored a rushing touchdown in four of the first six weeks of the season. As long as Barkley can stay healthy, he should continue to see a heavy workload. The Giants take on the Jaguars in Week 7, which should result in another RB1 finish for Barkley.
Marquise Brown leaves Sunday’s game with a foot injury
Marquise Brown caught five of nine targets for 68 yards in the Cardinals’ loss to the Seahawks Sunday but left the game late with an injury to his foot. Brown was donning a walking boot after the game and told reporters that X-rays were negative.
Fantasy Impact
The severity of the injury is still unknown, but whatever the case, it’s a blow to Brown, who’s having a career year. Fantasy managers will need to keep an eye on his status throughout the week. Brown was already destined to lose targets to DeAndre Hopkins, who is returning from suspension next week.
