Fantasy Baseball Prospect Report
I won’t hit on every prospect every week, but will focus on the most relevant prospects throughout the week and will follow up with other notable players. This article will not focus on any AAAA-type players or veterans in the Minors who have outlived their prospect status.
NOTE: Rookie status is determined by 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched at the Major League level. All stats up-to-date as of Sunday, April 13th.
Full Top 150 Prospect Rankings:
MLB Hitters
- 2024 AA/AAA: .433/.473/.668 | 6.2 BB%, 6.6 K% | 35 XBH, 7 HR, 2 SB (53 games)
- 2024 MLB: .250/.314/.315 | 7.8 BB%, 9.7 K% | 4 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB (28 games)
- This Week: 9/24 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 23
- ETA: Opening Day (Debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 106 fContact, 114 fDiscipline, 60 fPower, 77 fSpeed
- Comp: More athletic Luis Arraez
- Prime Skills: Jacob Wilson was a first-rounder last year and got the bump to AAA after decimating AA pitchers. He was a doubles machine in the Minors. It almost looks like he’s been at batting practice since the draft because he’s been generating so many hits. I thought the pick was a reach when the Athletics drafted him, but he’s moving quickly and is hitting at every level.
- Player Notes: Wilson continues to rack up hits and is a stud in points leagues thus far into the season.
- 2024 College: .387/.488/.654 | 39 XBH, 16 HR, 4 SB
- A/A+/AA: .313/.396/.609 | 11.2 BB% / 17.9 K%| 16 XBH, 7 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 5/15 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores: 96 fContact, 89 fDiscipline, 102 fPower, 81 fSpeed
- Comp: Josh Jung with shades of Manny Machado
- Prime Skills: Cam Smith began his Minor League career on a complete tear, outpacing his college profile. He’s very stoic at the plate, very calm with a great eye and quick hands to get to any pitch and crush it. He hits to all fields and if the Astros can teach him to pull more into the Crawford boxes, there’s quite a bit more of a power upside here.
- Player Notes: Just when we started to hear people saying the Astros made a mistake, and that Smith should be sent down, he puts up a nice week, including getting a combo meal in the game with his first homer.
88. Thomas Saggese (2B, SS, 3B – STL)
- 2024 AAA: .253/.313/.438 | 5.9 BB%, 23.1 K% | 46 XBH, 20 HR, 9 SB
- 2024 MLB: .204/.250/.306 | 3.8 BB%, 26.9 K% | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 8/18 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 100 fContact, 74 fDiscipline, 80 fPower, 86 fSpeed
- Comp: Righty Matt Carpenter with more speed
- Prime Skills: Thomae Saggese has a good hit tool and very solid plate skills (which he showed off better in the Fall League than the iffy AAA season with 16 walks and only 15 strikeouts in the Fall League). He has underrated power and speed for a guy who plays multiple infield positions. He’s kind of a jack of all trades.
- Player Notes: Saggese has been a hitting machine since getting called up to the Majors. With Masyn Winn hitting the injured list (IL) and even with Nolan Gorman back, Saggese has earned starting shortstop reps until Winn’s return. If he continues hitting like this, the Cardinals will be forced to find a full-time spot for him.
143. Zac Veen (OF – COL)
- 2024 CPX/A+/AA/AAA: .258/.346/.459 | 11.1 BB%, 24.8 K% | 23 XBH, 11 HR, 21 SB (65 games)
- This Week: 3/20 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 23
- ETA: Early/Mid 2025 (Editor’s Note: Veen was called up on April 6th, 2025)
- fScores: 90 fContact, 87 fDiscipline, 87 fPower, 225 fSpeed
- Comp: Young Charlie Blackmon with a worse hit tool
- Prime Skills: Zac Veen has a nice Joe Dirt look going for him, but he’s an aggressive in-the-zone hitter with a ton of speed. He has the body to grow into more power in the future, but right now he’s projecting more as a high average (due to aggressiveness), speed guy. Veen only has a four-degree average launch angle, which is bad and explains the over 50% groundball rates.
- Player Notes: Veen got the call this week, swapping spots with Jordan Beck. He has not done anything of note thus far, which is the only thing worth noting.
Notable MLB Hitters Outside the Top 150
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 2/4 (3 BBs) | 0 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Chase Meidroth is showing off that famous batting eye that has led to consistent 15% walk rates in the Minors.
MLB Pitchers
- 2024 AA: 91 2/3 IP | 13.6 K-BB% 12.3 SwStr%, 30.5 CSW% | 2.36 ERA, 1.12 WHIP
- 2024 MLB: 4 IP | 6.3 K-BB%, 4.2 SwStr%, 25 CSW% | 0.00 ERA, 0.50 WHIP
- This Week: 11 IP (2 starts) | 6 Ks, 4 BBs | 1.64 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
- Age: 22
- ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 100 fStuff, 99 fControl, 110 fERA
- Comp: George Kirby
- Prime Skills: Jackson Jobe has excellent command of his pitches for someone his age and has a ton of spin on his pitches. The fastball is riding as an above-average pitch, but it allows him to use his elite slider to get strikeouts. The walk rate is higher this year, but I think it’s an aberration and wouldn’t be too concerned. There seems to be a bit of a pitch mix issue in why his killer stuff has not played as well as it should.
- Player Notes: Jobe finished the week with good results, despite lackluster under-the-hood stuff. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, he has a lot of work ahead of him to develop as a pitcher, instead of just a thrower.
- 2024 CPX/AA/AAA: 36 2/3 IP | 36 K-BB%, 22 SwStr%, 36.9 CSW% | 1.96 ERA, 0.79 WHIP
- 2024 MLB: 11 2/3 IP | 14.5 K-BB%, 13.3 SwStr%, 28 CSW% | 3.86 ERA, 1.54 WHIP
- This Week: 8 1/3 IP (2 starts) | 3 Ks, 2 BBs | 4.32 ERA, 1.56 WHIP
- Age: 25
- ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 114 fStuff, 104 fControl, 154 fERA
- Comp: Hunter Greene with a better slider (12/6)/worse fastball
- Prime Skills: Kumar Rocker is a large pitcher with a dominant fastball/slider combo. He throws 97-99 with one of the best hard vertical sliders you will see. There’s a below-average change-up in there, too, that he has to throw to mix things up. I have Rocker ranked as a top-60 starter for 2025, which is aggressive and will depend on the workload, but the fScores love him and he was amazing in his small 2024 sample size.
- Player Notes: Rocker is running a ridiculously unlucky batting average on balls in play (BABIP), but he’s still also failing to get swings and misses on the sinker and four seamer.
42. Chase Dollander (SP – COL)
- 2024 A+/AA: 118 IP | 24.4 K-BB%, 16.6 SwStr%, 29 CSW% | 2.59 ERA, 1.19 WHIP
- This Week: 10 2/3 IP (2 starts) | 13 Ks, 3 BBs | 5.06 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
- Age: 23
- ETA: Mid 2025
- fScores: 104 fStuff, 93 fControl, 125 fERA
- Comp: Zach Wheeler-lite in Coors
- Prime Skills: Chase Dollander has a big-time fastball with a slider and curve. The fastball sits in the high 90s, while the curve has been a deadly tunnel pitch with guys swinging right over the top of it. He was one of the top swinging strike generators who reached the upper Minors in 2024, but we saw a decent downtick in strikeouts as he jumped to AA. He needs to throw more strikes early in the count and often doesn’t get an equal number of called strikes to the swinging strikes.
- Player Notes: Dollander has been incredibly impressive, except for the fact that he has given up four homers in two starts. He’s going to have to deal with an inflated ERA due to his home environment throughout his career, but that’s way too many homers.
135. AJ Smith-Shawver (SP – ATL)
- 2024 AAA: 89 IP | 18.3 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr%, 29.5 CSW% | 5.85 ERA, 1.24 WHIP
- 2024 MLB: 4 1/3 IP | 11.1 K-BB%, 10.3 SwStr%, 24.1 CSW% | 4.62 SIERA, 1.15 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP
- Age: 22
- ETA: Early 2025 (debuted in 2023)
- fScores: 97 fStuff, 91 fControl, 100 fERA
- Comp: Giovanny Gallegos as a starter
- Prime Skills: AJ Smith-Shawver has a super over-the-top arm slot that he repeats well, making it difficult to pick up on what pitch is coming out of his hand. He throws heat (hits 99 MPH), and the arm slot makes it come on even faster. His curve is his best pitch, and he might be better working in a slider to counter the curve and change-up since he’s so vertical.
- Player Notes: Smith-Shawver had one of the better starts of his young career this week as his new splitter is becoming a deadly pitch.
Notable MLB Pitchers Outside the Top 150
- Season (AAA): 11 IP (2 starts) | 19 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.64 ERA, 0.64 WHIP
- This Week: 5 1/3 IP | 6 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP
- Notes: J.T. Ginn got the call-up this week and rewarded anyone who bought in with a killer weekend start on Saturday. He had a lot of success, more or less, throwing the sinker and slider as a two-pitch guy (87% of the time). While I’m not sure he will rack up strikeouts like this regularly, he does have the stuff to generate a lot of bad contact to be an effective back-end starter.
AAA Hitters
- 2024 College: .306/.531/.763 | 34 XBH, 22 HR, 4 SB
- 2024 A/AA: .368/.520/.763 | 24 BB%, 20 K% | 7 XBH, 4 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 9/27 | 6 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 106 fContact, 129 fDiscipline, 115 fPower, 86 fSpeed
- Comp: Joey Votto-esque profile
- Prime Skills: Nick Kurtz has big-time plate skills with above-average power and a very solid hit tool. Think Kyle Manzardo with more power and a higher ceiling on the hit tool. He was a beast in his limited debut and returned in the Arizona Fall League from a hamstring injury.
- Player Notes: Kurtz has been the best hitter in the Minor Leagues to start the season, picking up exactly where he left off. It looks like Brent Rooker is starting to play in the outfield, making room for Kurtz and Tyler Soderstrom to split time at first base and designated hitter.
- 2024 AAA: .293/.372/.592 | 10.3 BB%, 25.1 K% | 54 XBH, 25 HR, 4 SB
- Age: 22
- This Week: 6/19 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- ETA: Early 2025 (debuted in 2024, return in May/June?)
- fScores: 92 fContact, 90 fDiscipline, 111 fPower, 69 fSpeed
- Comp: Nolan Arenado as a hitter (with better power, but a worse hit tool)
- Prime Skills: Cobt Mayo has a quick and powerful swing that portends to future 25-30-ish homer power with five-ish steal speed. He has an average enough hit tool (82.3% Z-Contact%), but the potential strikeout rate is a bit concerning if he can’t hold it down closer to 25% at the Major League level. The contract rates are still slightly below average, but the near 115 max exit velocity and a 90.7 average exit velocity mean Mayo has some of the best power in this prospect group. He needs the Orioles to find him a full-time position.
- Player Notes: I’m not sure where Mayo can break into the Orioles’ lineup, pending an injury, but at least he started hitting this week. Mayo hit another homer on Sunday.
- 2024 AA/AAA: .318/.417/.485 | 9 XBH, 2 HR, 6 SB (23 games)
- Age: 22
- This Week: 8/27 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 100 fContact, 104 fDiscipline, 93 fPower, 168 fSpeed
- Comp: Trea Turner-lite with some Derek Jeter
- Prime Skills: Jordan Lawlar has a nice power swing, but it may impact his contact ability in the Majors. He has all fields power and ridiculous speed; he’s a very aggressive base runner and puts himself in good positions to make things happen on top of having way-above-average plate discipline for his age.
- Player Notes: The Diamondbacks are getting close to calling Lawlar up, who has played two games at third base, five games at shortstop and seven games at second base, where Tim Tawa is struggling post call-up. Lawlar did strike out 10 times this past week, though. He needs to cut down on the strikeouts.
37. Agustin Ramirez (C/1B – MIA)
- 2024 AA/AAA: .267/.358/.487 | 11.1 BB%, 18.6 K% | 53 XBH, 25 HR, 22 SB
- This Week: 8/18 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 91 fContact, 103 fDiscipline, 93 fPower, 130 fSpeed
- Comp: Gary Sanchez with speed
- Prime Skills: Augustin Ramirez is a big-time power swing with some sneaky speed, but a questionable hit tool. He’s posted exit velocities up to 111 in Miami with increased average velocities in the low 90s. He hit a bump in AAA with the Yankees, but figured it out in his last 20 AAA games with a .286/.383/.486 slash with three bombs and two steals.
- Player Notes: Ramirez is ready to make the Major League team and play a critical role, however, the Marlins are playing service time games with him after Nick Fortes hit the IL.
- 2024 AA/AAA: .277/.342/.563 | 7 BB%, 24.7 K% | 80 XBH, 31 HR, 54 SB
- This Week: 6/22 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 24
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 95 fContact, 58 fDiscipline, 124 fPower, 106 fSpeed
- Comp: Taylor Ward/Adolis Garcia mash-up
- Prime Skills: Colby Thomas has all fields power and does a great job of shooting the ball through the gaps, and has an over 27% line drive rate this year. He has an open stance with hands up, loaded pre-pitch. He’s an extra-base hit machine and may run into some strikeout issues with a below-average hit tool (only 78.4% in zone contact). However, he’s aggressive in the zone (near 80% zone swing rate) and runs an optimal batted ball profile with a killer sweet spot percentage.
- Player Notes: Thomas is picking up where he left off last year after leading the Minors in extra-base hits, with another four this week.
75. Moises Ballesteros (C – CHC)
- 2024 AA/AAA Stats: .289/.354/.471 | 8.9 BB%, 18.3 K% | 44 XBH, 19 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 10/24 | 3 XBH, 0 HR, 3 SB
- Age: 21
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 95 fContact, 86 fDiscipline, 85 fPower, 67 fSpeed
- Comp: Lefty-only Pablo Sandoval with more pop
- Prime Skills: Moises Ballesteros has an above-average hit tool and power for a catcher, but he has a bad body ala Pablo Sandoval, which may negatively impact him down the line. He showed even more power in the Arizona Fall League and is advanced as a hitter for his age with six bombs there.
- Player Notes: Ballesteros is showing that after losing some weight this offseason, he can provide some speed to his game — tripling his steals total from last season all in one week.
- 2024 AA: .230/.343/.376 | 13.6 BB%, 19.3 K% | 27 XBH, 14 HR, 35 SB
- 2024 MLB: .171/.194/.200 | 2.8 BB%, 16.7 K% | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 4/16 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Late 2025 (July / August)
- fScores: 93 fContact, 109 fDiscipline, 76 fPower, 136 fSpeed
- Comp: Short switch-hitting Jake Cronenworth
- Prime Skills: Adael Amador has a compact swing and gets out of the box fast, which helps him reach for hits, because he doesn’t hit the ball on the ground too much. He has surprising power for his size because he is good at turning on the ball quickly when pitchers make mistakes. Amador’s contact and plate discipline skills are his calling card with above-average speed, but below-average power.
- Player Notes: Amador is off to a nice start after the overly aggressive promotion last season that threw him off his game. Was just promoted to the bigs again, which we will see if it was a tad too fast within a couple of weeks.
103. Alejandro Osuna (OF – TEX)
- 2024 A+/AA: .292/.362/.507 | 7.8 BB%, 23.6 K% | 47 XBH, 18 HR, 17 SB
- This Week: 8/30 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Mid 2025
- fScores: 99 fContact, 88 fDiscipline, 92 fPower, 123 fSpeed
- Comp: Short Joc Pederson mechanics meets Andrew Benintendi with more speed
- Prime Skills: Alejandro Osuna is a high-floor guy who projects as a pretty solid big leaguer once he gets the call. He has good bat control in the zone.
- Player Notes: Keep in mind that if Evan Carter struggles, Osuna could end up being the next man up. He put up some strong Arizona Fall League numbers as well.
- 2024 AA: .253/.310/.426 | 7 BB%, 23.5 K% | 37 XBH, 15 HR, 30 SB (105 games)
- This Week: 2/10 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 24
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 89 fContact, 74 fDiscipline, 94 fPower, 214 fSpeed
- Comp: James Outman with more speed; maybe a Jose Siri profile
- Prime Skills: Jacob Melton has some nice power and speed skills, but the hit tool and plate skills are lacking. He has an interesting wide wide-open stance with a lot of movement, but he hits some moonshots. Melton can progress the hit tool.
- Player Notes: Melton debuted after three games, but the power has been there so far, with both of his hits being homers.
- 2024 AAA: .258/.380/.461 | 16.5 BB%, 22.1 K% | 40 XBH, 15 HR, 3 SB
- 2024 MLB: .241/.362.304 | 18 BB%, 30.9 K% | 5 XBH, 0 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 4/16 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 23
- ETA: Opening Day (debuted 2024)
- fScores: 91 fContact, 128 fDiscipline, 89 fPower, 61 fSpeed
- Comp: Nolan Gorman meets Josh Jung’s swing with better plate skills and less power
- Prime Skills: The pull power is legit. Jace Jung’s swing reminds me a ton of Nolan Gorman, and his approach is very similar to his brother Josh. All things look good for success, except that he will have to hit in Detroit.
- Player Notes: Jung has made this list two weeks in a row, showing the Tigers he probably should have broken camp at third base.
- 2024 AA: .321/.410/.498 | 11.6 BB%, 21 K% | 32 XBH, 11 HR, 4 SB (90 games)
- This Week: 4/17 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 23
- ETA: Late 2025 (cup of coffee)
- fScores: 104 fContact, 95 fDiscipline, 93 fPower, 80 fSpeed
- Comp: Shorter Brian McCann-lite
- Prime Skills: Jimmy Crooks is a heavy-set lefty catcher with a more open Brian McCann-type stance. Per the fScores, he has the hit tool to be a decent Major League starting catcher right now. He’s a line drive artist with a 31.8% line drive rate in 2024.
- Player Notes: Crooks hit his second bomb of the year this week. He is a little closer to a call now that Ivan Herrera has hit the IL for the Cardinals.
Notable AAA Hitters Outside the Top 150
- Season: 10/46 | 5 XBH, 4 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 5/20 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: The former first-rounder already has four bombs on the season with the Orioles, but like Mayo, he is blocked behind a crowded depth chart.
- Season: 16/50 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 8 SB
- This Week: 5/16 (7 BBs) | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB
- Notes: The Marlins are big Max Acosta fans and had him hitting third in the Spring Breakout game. He’s a good hitter with a fledgling Bryson Stott-like profile. He makes this list for the second time in two weeks.
- Season: 7/33 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 5/18 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Tirso Ornelas had a bit of a bounceback week as he tries to break onto the Padres roster, where they have some openings in the outfield.
- Season: 10/48 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 7/25 | 4 XBH, 3 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Yanqueil Fernandez kind of disappeared off the prospect scene the last year or so, but he might be back as he gets closer to the Majors. He’s still only 22 years old.
AAA Pitchers
- 2024 AA/AAA: 119 2/3 IP | 22.3 K-BB%, 13.6 SwStr%, 29.5 CSW% | 3.08 ERA, 1.02 WHIP
- This Week: 4 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
- Age: 22
- ETA: Early/Mid 2025
- fScores: 106 fStuff, 95 fControl, 109 fERA
- Comp: Luis Gil with a Zack Wheeler slider
- Prime Skills: Bubba Chandler is a big fastball and slider pitcher, known as a dual-sport athlete, finally focusing on baseball rather than football. There is a lot of upside here as he has never been focused only on baseball until a couple of years ago; he had committed to Clemson to play quarterback. He throws 97-99 miles per hour (MPH) with a 12/6 killer vertical slider and a sick change-up with nice fade that tunnels well against his other two pitches.
- Player Notes: I still think we are a few of these types of starts away from a Chandler call-up as the Pirates are building him up still.
- 2024 A+/AA/AAA: 97 IP | 28.6 K-BB%, 14.2 SwStr%, 29.9 CSW% | 2.60 ERA, 0.87 WHIP
- 2024 MLB: 37 2/3 IP | 18.1 K-BB%, 11.3 SwStr%, 26.2 CSW% | 6.69 ERA, 1.65 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 3.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Age: 25
- ETA: Opening Day (debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 103 fStuff, 122 fControl, 112 fERA
- Comp: Zach Eflin outcome with a better fastball
- Prime Skills: Zebby Matthews is a big righty out of Western Carolina at 6-foot-five and 225 pounds. His curveball is his best weapon, though he has a decent heater that plays better up in the zone. The control is his best attribute as the dude has only walked 18 hitters on the entire season.
- Player Notes: Matthews is supposedly starting on Monday for the Twins and will lose prospect eligibility (by my ratings after another 2-3 starts). Matthews has added velocity this offseason and is primed to be an effective top-of-the-rotation starter for the Twins.
- 2024 AA: 135 2/3 IP | 20.1 K-BB%, 12.6 SwStr%, 27.7 CSW% | 2.52 ERA, 0.94 WHIP
- 2024 MLB: 10 1/3 IP | 1.9 K-BB%, 11.2 SwStr%, 26.2 CSW% | 9.58 ERA, 2.03 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP
- Age: 21
- ETA: May/June 2025 (debuted in 2024)
- fScores: 98 fStuff, 103 fControl, 125 fERA
- Comp: Young Noah Syndergaard
- Prime Skills: Caden Dana looks like vintage Syndergaard on the mound with his hair, 94-95 miles per hour (MPH) fastball and power slider. The curve is only average, but he has a pretty nifty two-seamer to pair against the four-seamer with some nice ride.
- Player Notes: Dana had a very nice return start to AAA after the one start call-up with the big league club. The key here is the increased strikeout rate. There’s more swing and miss in the profile than we have been getting at the upper levels.
86. Logan Henderson (SP – MIL)
- 2024 CPX/A+/AA/AAA: 81 1/3 IP | 28.1 K-BB%, 15 SwStr%, 31.6 CSW% | 3.32 ERA, 0.91 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.40 WHIP
- Age: 23
- ETA: Mid 2025
- fScores: 105 fStuff, 106 fControl, 110 fERA
- Comp: Spencer Strider-lite
- Prime Skills: Logan Henderson is of slight build (5-foot-11) and has jumped up a couple of levels already after destroying at Low-A most. He has excellent command and a nice fastball/change-up combo. The fastball runs 94-96 MPH, and is one of the better change-ups in the Minors.
- Player Notes: Henderson is coming off his best start of the young season after a very good 2024 and a strong spring. There’s a chance he gets the call in the next week or two with the mess that is the Brewers rotation.
110. Parker Messick (SP – CLE)
- 2024 A+/AA: 133 2/3 IP | 22.1 K-BB%, 16 SwStr%, 30.6 CSW% | 2.83 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP
- Age: 23
- ETA: Mid 2025
- fScores: 93 Stuff, 99 fControl, 132 fERA
- Comp: Framber Valdez mashed up with lefty Sonny Gray-lite
- Prime Skills: Parker Messick is a shorter, heavy-set lefty who is a classic Guardians command guy. He is breaking ball-heavy and a former second-rounder out of FSU. Messick is very sweeper-heavy — it’s a killer pitch, but I’d like to see him generate more ground balls, so he gets more toward the Framber Valdez pendulum than Andrew Abbott.
- Player Notes: With Joey Cantillo in the pen, there’s a question of whether or not Cantillo or Messick would get the next shot in the rotation. Messick brings safety as a starter, and Cantillo’s profile plays up better in the pen. With a conservative team like the Guardians, this could be the route they go.
Notable AAA Pitchers Outside the Top 150
- Season: 14 2/3 IP | 18 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.61 ERA, 0.89 WHIP
- This Week: 5 2/3 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.35 WHIP
- Notes: We have seen Carlos Rodriguez in the Majors. He’s a viable back-end starter, but not one for fantasy. He’s had back-to-back quality weeks to start the season. The fastball isn’t great, but the breakers are, and the stuff+ likes him.
- Season: 14 2/3 IP | 12 Ks, 3 BBs | 4.30 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.33 WHIP
- Notes: Logan Evans doesn’t have the stuff of a front-end starter, but I like him better as the No. 5 guy than someone like Emerson Hancock.
- Season: 9 1/3 IP | 11 Ks, 3 BBs | 4.82 ERA, 0.96 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 7 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.80 WHIP
- Notes: Carson Palmquist was ahead of Dollander in the pecking order by the end of last season and doesn’t have the stuff he does. Now that Dollander is up, it shouldn’t be too long for guys like Palmquist and Sean Sullivan (once he’s healthy) to join him.
AA Hitters
- 2024 AA: .259/.336/.452 | 9.9 BB%, 36.8 K% | 53 XBH, 17 HR, 25 SB
- This Week: 4/18 | 1 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Age: 24
- ETA: Late 2025
- fScores: 106 fContact, 68 fDiscipline, 96 fPower, 138 fSpeed
- Comp: Shohei Ohtani-super lite (just the hitter) meets Adolis Garcia
- Prime Skills: Spencer Jones is huge at 6-foot-6 and has ridiculous power potential with decent speed to boot. Everyone wants to compare him to Aaron Judge since they are both Yankees, but I think Shohei Ohtani makes more sense, even the stance is similar to Ohtani’s. Jones has a ton of sneaky speed to go along with the huge power potential, but the swing has some holes in it.
- Player Notes: Despite changing to the torpedo bat, Jones is still running into strikeout trouble, as even though it may increase barrels, the new bat won’t increase contact rate.
- 2024 College: .419/.544/.875 | 43 XBH, 35 HR, 4 SB
- 2024 A+: .241/.302/.388 | 5.6 BB%, 20.6 K% | 12 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB (29 games)
- This Week: 8/26 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22

- Comp: Matt Olson
- Prime Skills: Jac Caglianone has massive power potential, so much so that he only hit eight doubles in college. He could get some reps pitching, but it’s highly doubtful unless they perhaps try him as a combo relief pitcher/first baseman. Caglianone showed off some nice power in the Arizona Fall League (five bombs with four doubles and 21 RBI), but there are some obvious holes in his swing right he needs to correct. It should be noted that Caglione had superior plate skills to Charlie Condon in college.
- Player Notes: Caglianone had another monster homer this week and appears to have improved his ability to avoid strikeouts that we saw in college last year.
- 2024 CPX/A+: .283/.359/.491 | 9.7 BB%, 18.9 K% | 47 XBH, 17 HR, 53 SB

- Age: 23
- ETA: Mid 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Switch-hitting Jarren Duran
- Prime Skills: Cole Carrigg has a ridiculous power/speed skill set with some insane numbers, but he was older for the levels he played at in 2024. There are rumors of some maturity issues with him. Statistically, he rates pretty above average across the board with superior speed, but the Rockies have a lot of these toolsy outfielders and haven’t been able to develop any of them. Carrigg is versatile, though, as a former catcher. He has been clocked throwing 102 MPH.
- Player Notes: Carrigg has been electric thus far into the season and will likely be moving up my prospect rankings in the next update.
52. Jett Williams (2B, SS – NYM)
- 2023 A/A+/AA: .263/.425/.451 | 43 XBH, 13 HR, 45 SB
- 2024 A/AA/AAA: .215/.358/.298 | 14.9 BB%, 23.6 K% | 9 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB (33 games)
- This Week: 5/17 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 21
- ETA: Mid-Late 2025 (July / August)
- fScores: 86 fContact, 146 fDiscipline, 78 fPower, 148 fSpeed
- Comp: Jose Altuve build with Edouard Julien approach with speed (think Nico Hoerner stats)
- Prime Skills: Jett Williams has plate skills and speed. The contact tool is still developing, but should ultimately be a good tool for Williams. His quality contact is lacking right now. Williams has non-zero power. His quick swing leads to a surprising number of extra-base hits.
- Player Notes: Despite missing most of last season, Williams is still young for the level. I love to see the power he’s showing this early in the season.
116. Henry Bolte (OF – Athletics
- 2024 A+/AA: .267/.368/.466 | 11.2 BB% / 34.7 K% | 55 XBH, 15 HR, 46 SB
- This Week: 10/27 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 21
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Righty Nolan Jones
- Prime Skills: Henry Bolte put up a decent steals total and some solid power numbers last year, but a high BABIP and strikeout rate made him look like a small ball version of Nolan Jones in a bad organization. Even though the concerns are the same (.406 BABIP in high A) this season, the power is way up, and he looks like he could kind of be an actual copycat Nolan Jones, where he’s just going to project as a 25/35 type with a volatile batting average. Super toolsy, though, which is fun.
- Player Notes: Bolte is running a ridiculously high BABIP, contributing to the strong start, and is reminiscent of what he was able to do last season in the minors.
- 2024 AA: .200/.314/.365 | 13.3 BB%, 28 K% | 33 XBH, 17 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 4/18 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 80 fContact, 112 fDiscipline, 99 fPower, 71 fSpeed
- Comp: Austin Riley with a much worse hit tool
- Prime Skills: Brock Wilken has massive power, but the question is if the hit tool can be average enough to allow him to mash 30-40 homers.
- Player Notes: The hit tool is already starting to look a bit behind again this season, but the power is still legit.
- 2024 A/A+/AA: .252/.349/.417 | 11.8 BB%, 23.8 K% | 42 XBH, 12 HR, 9 SB (112 games)
- This Week: 11/25 | 4 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 23
- ETA: Mid 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Carlos Gonzalez-lite without the steals
- Prime Skills: One of the best hitters in college the last couple of years, Chase Davis has a solid hit tool with very good plate skills and 25-30 homer potential from a corner outfield spot. He looks like Carlos Gonzalez hitting, but does not have the same wheels. He has become a bit of a doubles machine with above-average metrics across the board.
- Player Notes: Both homers were in the same game, and this is a nice start to the season for Davis after a rough Spring.
Notable AA Hitters Outside the Top 150
- Season: 13/25 | 5 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 11/34 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: CJ Kayfus will probably be promoted soon, as he’s off to a killer start to the season. He’s a guy right outside of my top 150. I ding him a bit as the Guardians are already pretty blocked at first base, designated hitter and corner outfield. His bat will play once he gets a chance.
- Season: 11/33 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 4 SB
- This Week: 7/21 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Kemp Alderman makes the list again after a two-homer game on Saturday. He’s one of the more interesting prospects in an underrated Marlins system.
- Season: 12/29 | 5 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- This Week: 10/20 (8 BBs) | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: It’s nice to see Tommy Troy find his stride after a rough 2024 season. I was very high on him a year ago at this time.
- Season: 8/24 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 2 SB
- This Week: 7/21(7 BBs) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Jeremy Rivas got a decent amount of run for the Cardinals this spring and has filled out this offseason to a stronger 200-pound frame, which makes him so interesting if power is now a part of his game.

Comp: Randy Johnson/Logan Gilbert-lite mash-up
Prime Skills: Noah Schultz is a giant lefty. He might be the tallest player in baseball history by the time he gets to the Majors (currently six-foot-9). Schultz has pinpoint command for someone of his size — it’s incredible to see. He gets Chris Sale and Nick Lodolo comps often because of the slider, but the size and mechanics remind me more of Randy Johnson, and the profile reminds me more of a young Logan Gilbert.
Player Notes: Schultz was hit up a tad more than usual, but it’s nice to see that he contained the damage and went more than four innings.
- 2024 A+/AA: 66 IP | 22.9 K-BB%, 14.1 SwStr%, 30.1 CSW% | 3.27 ERA, 1.06 WHIP

- fScores: 103 fStuff, 98 fControl, 97 fERA
- Comp: Chris Sale-lite with Brandon Williamson
- Prime Skills: Hunter Barco is a big lefty with an almost sidearm delivery playing up a killer slider with excellent command. It looks like he put on some size since his pre-draft days at Florida, which might help in building up the innings and trying to add velo to the fastball.
- Player Notes: Barco has a 0.00 ERA on the season, but the Pirates are being very careful with his use so far after last season was cut short.
130. Robby Snelling (SP – MIA)
- 2024 AA/AAA: 115 1/3 IP | 13.8 K-BB%, 12.2 SwStr% | 5.15 ERA, 1.52 WHIP
- This Week: 5 1/3 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 5.06 ERA, 1.69 WHIP
- Age: 21
- ETA: Early 2025
- fScores: 93 fStuff, 96 fControl, fERA 104
- Comp: Jesus Luzardo-lite
- Prime Skills: The 3/4 arm-slot helps create a lot of deception between his fastball and slider, which also gets classified as a curveball, so we will call it a slurve. Robby Snelling is a three-pitch guy with an above-average fastball, a good change-up and a stellar breaking pitch with a knack for avoiding hard contact.
- Player Notes: The Marlins fixed Snelling, I don’t even care about the earned runs this week. It’s fantastic to see the strikeouts back.
Notable AA Pitchers Outside the Top 150
- Season: 8 IP | 10 Ks, 1 BB | 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
- This Week: 4 IP | 5 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
- Notes: Tekoah Roby is coming off a nice spring and has had two strong starts in a row now, even if the Cardinals are babying him with the innings a bit since he has a bad injury history.
- Season: 9 IP | 14 Ks, 2 BBs | 4.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP
- This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 10 Ks, 2 BBs | 3.86 ERA, 1.93 WHIP
- Notes: Ben Kudrna is one of those metrics guys who tends to get hit up more than you would think, but hopefully he can figure that out as he does have an inflated .462 BABIP against.
Blake Adams (SP – COL)
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 5 IP | 11 Ks, 1 BBs (0 hits) | 0.00 ERA, 0.20 WHIP
- Notes: Blake Adams has always been a control guy with below-average swinging strike stuff, but it’s interesting to see if he discovered something here in his last start.
- Season: 10 IP | 16 Ks, 3 BBs | 0.90 ERA, 0.70 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
- Notes: Jack Wenninger has been nasty so far this year. While he always had solid swinging strike stuff in his Minor League career, he seems to have taken a step forward. I’d love to have some Statcast data on his arsenal.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 3 1/3 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP
- Notes: Yordanny Monegro has only made one start this year as the Red Sox are rolling him out slowly.

- Comp: Corbin Carroll
- Prime Skills: Max Clark is a multi-sport athlete. He has a nice hit tool, a lot of speed and should develop more power as he ages. He’s likely to develop more into a speed-first, 15-20 homer type based on the small sample size of what we have seen in the Minors and pre-draft. The plate skills are also much better than when you look at them at first glance, as he has a near elite 8.5% SwStr% and only a 22% chase rate on the year at Low-A.
- Player Notes: Clark is killing it so far this season and is going to earn himself a promotion to AA before June at this rate.
- 2024 A/A+: .288/.397/.484 | 14.4 BB%, 23.6 K% | 44 XBH, 21 HR, 5 SB

- Comp: Shades of a lefty Paul Goldschmidt in the outfield
- Prime Skills: Lazaro Montes is a big, strong kid with a great hit tool. He has some insane lefty power and good plate skills. He’s also really improved his body from 2023 to 2024, which has likely helped him cut down the strikeout rate, while also shrinking the gap between his BABIP and his batting average. I can’t wait to get some additional Statcast numbers on him.
- Player Notes: Montes killed it at the end of 2024 and has started 2025 right where he left off. Montes should be in AA within the next month or so if this production continues.
- 2024 A/A+: .268/.404/.405 | 17.5 BB%, 19.8 K% | 30 XBH, 10 HR, 27 SB

- Prime Skills: Josue De Paula is a big kid with a body that power can grow into with a solid hit tool, great plate skills and zero speed. The contact skills are very good as well for his age, without many holes in the swing. The power should develop further as he grows into his big 6-foot-3 frame.
- Player Notes: It’s hilarious that De Paula and Montes have the same stats to date. Both should be in AA soon.
- 2024 A: .288/.401/.473 | 14.4 BB% / 23.2 K%| 45 XBH, 11 HR, 41 SB

- Prime Skills: Aidan Smith is a toolsy doubles machine (33 on the year). He became a stolen base machine as soon as he was traded to the Rays from Seattle in the Randy Arozarena deal after being drafted out of high school last year. He keeps the ball off the ground ala Colby Thomas, and that’s what is allowing him to do so much damage.
- Player Notes: Smith has been stealing more since joining the Rays’ organization. They have only enhanced his tools to date since moving over from the Mariners in the Arozarena trade.
- 2024 CPX/A: .290/.419/.484 | 15.1 BB% / 22.8 K%| 25 XBH, 9 HR, 9 SB (61 games)

- Comp: A lean Josh Naylor
- Prime Skills: Zayhir Hope is a shorter player with quick hands and a beautiful lefty swing with some major lefty pull power. Hope has excellent plate skills to go along with the plus hit tool and the plus power he has shown in A ball and in the Arizona Fall League, where he hit five bombs in 23 games.
- Player Notes: Hope continues to show himself as a Statcast darling and continues to rack up the stolen bases just like my comp for him (stat-wise), Josh Naylor.
- 2024 CPX/A: .232/.325/.482 | 10 BB%, 30.7 K% | 44 XBH, 17 HR, 9 SB

- Comp: Righty J.P. Crawford
- Prime Skills: Arjun Nimmala should stick at shortstop long-term as a solid defensive player with a good all-fields hit tool that currently projects as better gap power than homerun power. He’s young with a solid frame and brings a lot more power than you might expect for his age.
- Player Notes: Nimmala has been very impressive since the second half of last year and continues to build on that progress.
119. Ryan Waldschmidt (OF – ARI)
- 2024 College: .333/.469/.610 | 31 XBH, 14 HR, 25 SB
- 2024 A: .273/.485/.318 | 22.7 BB%, 13.6 K% | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 4 SB
- This Week: 8/19 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Mid 2026
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Righty Lars Nootbaar
- Prime Skills: Ryan Waldschmidt is a big outfielder who can play in center field. He has great plate skills with an above-average hit tool to pair with a solid power and speed combo. He hits the crap out of the ball and had some of the highest exit velocities in the 2024 draft.
- Player Notes: Waldschmidt is one of my favorite players from the last draft. He should have been a first-rounder.
Notable A+ Hitters Outside the Top 150
- Season: N/A

- Notes: Leandro Arias was an interesting Florida Complex League player, but offensively, he never put it together at A ball. He’s still young and has a big frame to put on some beef. He’s almost like Jeremy Rivas.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 6/20 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Eli Serrano is a big outfielder and a 2024 fifth-rounder who probably should have been drafted higher just based on his skillset. He is a fun name to watch this year.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 7/19 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 4 SB

- Season: N/A
- This Week: 6/11 (5 BB) | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 3 SB
- Notes: Ivan Brethowr is another big outfielder at 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds who was a seventh-rounder in 2024. He is another interesting name to keep your eye on at the High-A level.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 7/16 | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: The Royals picked Bryan Gonzalez up in the Minor League Rule 5 draft from Boston, so they saw something they could fix.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 7/18 | 3 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Another interesting name to watch. Yerlin Confidan has some big power potential if he can hit the ball in the air.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 7/23 | 5 XBH, 3 HR, 2 SB
- Notes: Jose Devers is coming off a down 2024, after a very promising 2023 season. He’s the cousin of Rafael Devers, so he does possibly have someone to lean on when it comes to making the most of his skillset. Like most relative players, he does not have the upside of his cousin.
A+ Pitchers
4. Andrew Painter (SP – PHI)

- Age: 21
- ETA: June 2025
- fScores: 107 fStuff, 111 fControl, 144 fERA
- Comp: A bigger Jacob deGrom or Tyler Glasnow with more control
- Prime Skills: Andrew Painter regularly touches 99 MPH on his fastball and throws it up in the zone with some ridiculous ride. He then loves to use his curveball in the zone to finish guys off when they are dead red fastball. He has pinpoint control for a pitcher his age, which plays his stuff up even more. He has an excellent pitch mix and knows how to throw his changeup and breaking stuff off his money fastball.
- Player Notes: The performance isn’t what to note, but the fact he’s pitching again in competition is what we should care about.
- 2024 College: 100 IP | 191 Ks, 30 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 0.92 WHIP

- Comp: Hunter Greene/Dylan Cease mash-up
- Prime Skills: Insane fastball/slider combo that could be one of the best in baseball. Chase Burns is bigger than some of the other guys with this type of fastball/slider combo. Could be a better version of Jared Jones.
Notable A+ pitchers Outside the Top 150

- Season: N/A
- This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
- Notes: Alex Clemmey was the Nationals’ second-round pick in 2023. He had a rough first start of the season, but followed it up with a beauty this week. He’s a big lefty with some command issues, but solid stuff.

- Season: N/A
- This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.20 WHIP

- Season: N/A
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
- Notes: Bishop Letson is a big righty who was drafted by the Brewers out of high school. He had trouble getting the stuff to translate to strikeouts last year, but is having no such trouble in 2025.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 5 IP | 9 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.00 WHIP

- Prime Skills: Edurdo Tait has a nice lefty swing with big power potential, especially for a catcher. He’s been raking with 34 RBI in 32 games, but took off toward the end of the Complex Florida League from a power standpoint. He has kept on raking up through A ball as a 17-year-old.
- Player Notes: I’ve been singing Tait’s praises all offseason, and here he is with a killer start to the year.
60. Braden Montgomery (OF – CWS)
- 2024 College: .322/.454/.611 | 32 XBH, 17 HR, 6 SB
- This Week: 6/20 | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 2 SB
- Age: 22
- ETA: Mid 2026
- fScores: N/A (need minor league data)
- Comp: Bigger Jasson Dominguez with less speed
- Prime Skills: Braden Montgomery is an athletic, switch-hitting power hitter. He has an arm as a former pitcher as well, and a quick, short swing where he gets to the ball no matter where it’s thrown.
- Player Notes: Montgomery has shown some nice speed so far from a big dude, who I wasn’t sure about how much we would see him on the base paths.
83. Konnor Griffin (SS, OF – PIT)
- 2024 CPX: N/A
- This Week: 4/18 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 2 SB
- Age: 18
- ETA: 2028
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Fernando Tatis Jr.-lite
- Prime Skills: Konnor Griffin is a big righty with a good arm as a high school pitcher. He has some massive power upside. The high stance and high and tight hands in his swing remind me of Fernando Tatis Jr., and like Tatis, he will probably have plenty of swing and misses to go with the damage.
- Player Notes: Griffin has proven himself to be a Statcast beast, but the hit tool isn’t out of the woods yet. Regardless, he’s probably a top-50 player in the next rankings update.
- 2024 A: .438/.526/.625 | 15.8 BB%, 15.8 K% | 2 XBH, 0 HR, 4 SB (4 games)
- This Week: 7/21 (5 BBs) | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 5 SB
- Age: 18
- ETA: 2028
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Lawrence Butler
- Prime Skills: Braylon Payne is a big-bodied outfielder tooled up with a killer power and speed combo from the left side. He’s one of the faster guys picked in the 2024 draft. If he can develop the hit tools and classic Brewers plate skills, the tools can play this kid up with some of the better Brewers prospects.
- Player Notes: The speed he’s bringing so far is electric; he is fun.
146. Slade Caldwell (OF – ARI)
- 2024 CPX: N/A
- This Week: 4/14 (9 BBs) | 4 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Age: 18
- ETA: 2028
- fScores: N/A
- Comp: Sal Frelick with more power; the ceiling is Steven Kwan
- Prime Skills: Slade Caldwell is best known for having a killer hit tool as a high school player, but he has a short, quick, compact lefty swing and some nice wheels. He’s not a zero in power and could contribute around 10 homers or so per season.
- Player Notes: He’s showing off that ridiculous eye at the plate already.
Notable A Hitters Outside the Top 150
- Season: .316/.480/.901 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 8 SB
- This Week: 5/14 | 1 XBH, 0 HR, 7 SB
- Notes: Tommy Hawke was drafted in 2023 and spent most of last season on the IL, but he could provide some fantasy goodness at some point as a burner and could move fast.
- Season: .200/.412/.852 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- This Week: 4/18 | 2 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Flippo Di Turi is an interesting prospect who has a way to go, but after only hitting three homers last season, it’s interesting to see him with two already this year.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 6/15 | 3 XBH, 2 HR, 0 SB
- Notes: Drew Gilbert lit up A ball while on a Minor League rehab stint for AAA.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 8/20 | 6 XBH, 2 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: As mentioned, the Cardinals know catchers. Josh Cross hit a third homer on Sunday to close out the week.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 7/17 | 2 XBH, 1 HR, 1 SB
- Notes: Dakota Jordan was a 2024 fourth-rounder and is one of the better college hitters at the level to start the season in 2025.
Notable A Pitchers Outside the Top 150
- Season: 7 IP | 13 K, 2 BBs | 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP
- This Week: 3 1/3 IP | 6 Ks, 2 BBs | 2.70 ERA, 1.50 WHIP
- Notes: Dasan Hill was not as on in his second start of the season, after a dominant first start.
- Season: 10 IP | 19 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 0.70 WHIP
- This Week: 5 1/3 IP | 11 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.69 ERA, 0.56 WHIP
- Notes: Sean Linan showed good stuff last year for the Dodgers, but had issues of getting hit hard. It looks like he fixed that, making my list the first two weeks of the season in 2025.
- Season: N/A
- This Week: 3 IP | 6 Ks, 1 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP
- Notes: Kash Mayfield made his MiLB debut, showing some big stuff, despite the terrible camera angles.
Wei-En Lin (SP – ATH)
- Season: 8 IP | 15 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.13 ERA, 0.75 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 8 Ks, 0 BBs | 1.80 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
- Notes: This lefty out of Taiwan has been invincible to start the season. Wei-En Lin is only 19 years old — rare for an international prospect from the Far East.
- Season: 11 IP | 15 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.82 ERA, 0.45 WHIP
- This Week: 6 IP | 9 Ks, 1 BBs | 1.50 ERA, 0.33 WHIP
- Notes: Khal Stephen was a second-rounder last year and is way too good for Low-A with a pretty sweet fastball/change-up combo that has resulted in a 41% CSW% overall through his first two starts. He runs six pitches deep, including three different fastball offerings that make his actual four-seamer play up on the 93 MPH velocity.
- Season: 9 1/3 IP | 14 Ks, 2 BBs | 1.93 ERA, 0.86 WHIP
- This Week: 5 IP | 10 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.60 WHIP
- Notes: Chase Allsup is a big-bodied fourth-rounder out of Auburn who can hit 95-97 with his fastball and racked up 19 whiffs on one of the worst camera angles I’ve ever seen from the left side of the pitcher. The slider looked dominant, though.
- Season: 9 1/3 IP | 13 Ks, 2 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 1.07 WHIP
- This Week: 4 2/3 IP | 7 Ks, 0 BBs | 0.00 ERA, 0.86 WHIP
- Notes: Cole Herzler has the over-the-top Andre Pallante type delivery. He has looked pretty good despite giving up some hits through his first two starts as a fifth-round pick last year.
