Kyle Seager having a typically slow start to the season

by Mike Maher | Wed, Apr 19th 11:29am EDT

Kyle Seager went 0-for-3 on Tuesday night, going hitless for the second straight night and dropping his batting average to .220 through 15 games.

Fantasy Impact:

Kyle Seager has been one of the most consistent hitters and fantasy contributors over the past several seasons, as owners have always been able to count on 20+ home runs, a batting average north of .260, and somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-to-90 RBIs. Last season was no different, except that it was even better than usual. However, another thing Seager does consistently is start slow out of the gate. Over the past three seasons, Seager's batting average in April is below .220, which just so happens to be exactly where it is right now. It is certainly not time to panic, especially given Seager's track record, but it does not appear that Seager is going to be able to avoid his typically slow start.
