Matt Shoemaker picks up win with six strikeout start

SP Matt Shoemaker gave up two earned runs on seven hits over five innings vs. Athletics on Wednesday. He struck out six and walked two, to secure his first win of the season.
Fantasy Impact:
The 30-year-old took 72 pitches to get through three innings and was pulled after 100 pitches. Although he gave up a season-high seven hits, the start represented the first time this year that he did not allow a home run. Shoemaker is expected to be a two-start pitcher next week with starts away to the Mariners and at home to the Astros.
