CC Sabathia with a short outing

CC Sabathia pitched three innings against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, allowing four runs on six hits. Sabathia struck out three batters and walked one, allowing two home runs to Josh Donaldson. He has a 4.05 ERA this season and is scheduled to face the Red Sox in New York on August 13.

Sabathia has now allowed four earned runs in three consecutive outings and has allowed five home runs in those outings. He has now struck out five batters or fewer in each of his last eight appearances, but has only walked one batter in each of his last three outings. Sabathia has not allowed a run in 14 innings against the Red Sox this season, earning a win in each of his two starts.
