Jimmy Nelson notches quality start Wednesday
by Elliott Baas | Thu, Aug 17th 12:59am EDT
Jimmy Nelson pitched 6.1 innings Wednesday against the Pirates, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out seven and walking one. He ultimately took a no decision.
Fantasy Impact:
Two of the Pirates runs scored on errors in this game, one by Nelson himself, which preserved the quality start for him. This was a nice recovery for Nelson after a disastrous outing last time out against the Reds. Nelson now has a 3.74 ERA on the season, and a 3.06 FIP and .343 BABIP against suggest that he could whittle his ERA down even farther.
