Jacoby Ellsbury's rehab from an oblique injury has been shut down due to a hip injury, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on Tuesday. (Sweeny Murti on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
There had been some hope that the oft-injured Ellsbury could be activated as early as Thursday when he was eligible, but that appears to no longer be the case. Ellsbury's career has been one injury after another, and the former All-Star is now nothing more than a waiver wire pickup for fantasy owners hoping to squeeze a few steals out of him in most formats. Those waiver wire claims will now have to wait at least another few weeks, it seems.
