Justin Verlander continues excellence on Memorial Day

by Brendan Tuma | Astros Correspondent | Mon, May 28th 10:31pm EDT

Justin Verlander improved to 7-2 on Memorial Day in New York, allowing one run on five hits over 6 2/3 innings as the Astros beat the Yankees 5-1.

Fantasy Impact:

Verlander struck out five without walking a batter. The only run he surrendered was a solo shot by Greg Bird. The 35-year-old has been otherworldly since coming over from Detroit last year. He now has a 1.11 ERA this year. If the season ended today Verlander would be your American League Cy Young favorite.
