Caleb Smith tossed 5 1/3 shutout innings to earn the win over the Padres on Friday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out five. The win brings him to 5-6 on the season.
Fantasy Impact:
Smith bounced back after allowing five earned runs to the Diamondbacks in his last start, and he continues to be a bright spot for an otherwise depressing Miami team. He now sports a 3.70 ERA with 79 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings. Smith is currently scheduled to face the Giants at home in his next start.
