Matt Chapman (thumb) received a cortisone injection for his bruised right thumb Tuesday, Julian McWilliams of The Athletic Bay Area reports. (Julian McWilliams on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The expectation is that Chapman resumes swinging a bat on Thursday. The 25-year-old third baseman was placed on the disabled list June 16 with discomfort in his right hand, but an MRI showed no structural damage, so he shouldn't be out too long.
